Master's Untamed Wife

Chapter 1336 Nature Takes Its Course

Chapter 1336  Nature Takes Its Course

"What you just said is also very reasonable," said Mu Chenyan. "Well, we won't know what's the real reason. So, there is no point in thinking about it. Right?"

"Yes," agreed Raelle. "Where are you taking me?"

"Just follow me," said Mu Chenyan mysteriously and pulled her to the far end of the mansion. She opened the door and walked out with Raelle. As they stepped out, they could see the view of different fields down there. "Tada!"

"What am I supposed to be looking at?" asked Raelle.

Mu Chenyan shook her head and held her shoulders to make her look in a particular direction as she pointed, "See those terraced fields?"

"Yes," answered Raelle.

"That's our tea farm," she replied. "On the far right, we have our rice fields. Since the rice had only been planted for a couple of months, you can't see the real beauty of it. But this is a sight to see during the autumn harvest."

"We have rice fields?" asked Raelle.

Mu Chenyan gave her a look and sighed, "This is why I tell you to pay attention to the accounts that I settle every month so that you can know what our family does apart from business. Yes, we have our own fields. I have worked in those rice fields too."

"Was it tiring?" asked Raelle.

"It was fine. The worst part of working in rice fields are the leeches that get stuck to your skin and start sucking blood like it's free of cost."

"That experience must be something," said Raelle.

"Yeah. It was something," said Mu Chenyan. "You know what? You should come here more in the future and see things. For instance, you should come and see when the farmers are picking tea. You should also see how crops are harvested and grown too. It's an experience. Even if you don't learn it, at least, you won't look like the person who doesn't even know how the food she eats is grown."

"I'll try," replied Raelle.

Mu Chenyan pulled her to sit on the stone bench and said, "Once upon a time, I used to love sitting here and looking at everything from this height. Look at the sun."

"You all have a weird obsession with watching sunsets and sunrises," said Raelle.

Mu Chenyan rubbed her head, "It's not an obsession. It's just... In this busy life, when you get the chance to see simple things like sunsets and sunrises, they actually bring you a subtle feeling of joy. Just think about it, how many times do we notice the sun in our day-to-day life? So, when we sit down specifically to watch the sunset, it makes it special even though it happens every single day."

Raelle looked up at the aged sycamore tree which was providing them with shade right now. Its leaves were fluttering slowly in the wind. Mu Chenyan took a deep breath and asked, "How was it really? Your camping trip? Was it really that uncomfortable?" n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

Raelle looked at Mu Chenyan and shook her head, "It was uncomfortable because it was new. I have never been exposed to such living conditions so it was difficult to accept it all at once. But it wasn't all that bad either. I know they all tried to make it as comfortable for me as possible. The only thing is that I did not get to go to the bathroom for 24 hours. That was a difficult thing to do."

Mu Chenyan laughed out loud, "You held it in for so long?"

"Or else?"

Mu Chenyan pursed her lips and shook her head, "Nothing. Sorry for your experience. Next time, we'll go to the camping grounds. There are a lot of facilities available there to make it convenient for campers. So, you'd like it better there. This was a real wild experience."

Raelle didn't continue the topic and took a while to bring up the topic, "Actually, I feel like I didn't fit in there."

"Huh?"

"They all had some kind of an experience regarding camping," told Raelle. "It was my first time apart from Justin who is a kid. I knew nothing."

"What's there to be ashamed about? We all have our own experiences in life. How can we all be the same?"

"But they all had similarities," said Raelle. "They all had stories to tell. They all had some adventures in life. The only incident considered an adventure in my life would be when I was kidnapped. I can't think of anything else." Mu Chenyan's expression changed when she heard this. "They all had similar experiences. They all had times when they hurt their parents just because they couldn't understand the real intentions of their parents. I couldn't relate to anything."

Mu Chenyan turned serious. "Don't look so serious. I'm just sharing it with you."

Mu Chenyan came to sit closer to her and put her arm around her shoulder saying, "I'm glad that you shared it with me. I love it when my Elle shares her feelings with me. And if you say, you can't relate, it's not difficult to understand. You have always been the most considerate one in this family. So, we never had times where you'd hurt me or Elder Xiang. You'd always do what we told you to do even if you didn't like doing it. Let's take your blind date as an example. Elder Xiang was insistent on sending you to blind dates and you're intent on ruining them." She hugged her shoulders closer and added, "You don't have to think so much. Not having your parents around doesn't make you different from others. None of them had a perfect family either."

"Who said I was feeling bad about that?" asked Raelle. "I have never felt like I am different just because I don't have my parents around me. You of all people should know that. You have never let me feel like I need more people in life. You filled in all the empty places in my life all by yourself."

"Okay, stop complimenting me so much. I'm gonna start floating," said Mu Chenyan.

"You'd become a wonderful mother, Yanyan."

Mu Chenyan stared at her, "I already have a daughter like you and a son like Fai. Why would I need more children? And that too, at this age?"

"There is nothing wrong with your age," said Raelle. "Our medical technology is definitely advanced enough at this point that you can have a safe and healthy child at this age too. And I think you should. You deserve to have a normal child. Raising me and Hyson was certainly not normal."

"But I had fun," replied Mu Chenyan. "I had a lot of fun. You won't understand this. And who can guarantee that I'll have a normal kid? Look at me and then look at Zhao. Combining our genes, do you really think there is a chance of having a normal kid? I highly doubt that. If we ended up having a really normal kid in the future, that'd be a miracle on its own."

"Don't act like you don't wanna have a kid," said Raelle. "I know you're actually anticipating what your and Uncle Zhao's genes could produce."

Mu Chenyan pursed her lips and didn't refute.

"I'd say you should not deprive yourself just because you think you're old now. Give yourself a chance."

"I'd just let nature take its course. There is no hurry. And I won't actively be looking for it too. I'm already a grandaunt. Soon, I'll have to look after your kids too. So, having my own kid at this age will really mess up the seniority in this family."

"Forget about seniority."

"Okay, I'll listen to you," said Mu Chenyan. "How about we go back inside? Everyone might be up by now. And your husband must be very anxious looking for you."

"There is no reason for him to be anxious," replied Raelle. "By the way, Hyson insisted on treasure hunt. Is there really a treasure in the mountains? Don't talk about how nature is a treasure to us too. I'm talking about the real treasure."

Mu Chenyan took a moment before responding in a low voice, "There really is one. But I don' know where it is. In fact, only Elder Xiang knows where it is. Because only the head of the family has the location of the family treasure. But, I know the location of my Mu family's treasure. Do you want the map?"

"Keep it to yourself," said Raelle. "I don't need any treasure. It's just that Hyson kept talking about it in my ear for so long that I really wanted to know the truth behind it."

"Well, now you know."

"Yes, now I know."

Mu Chenyan happily took her back inside. She really didn't know where the location of the treasure was or what was inside it. She just heard from her godmother that every generation of the Xiang family would add something to that treasure which was actually like a family heirloom at this point. And she also knew what Elder Xiang added to that already rich treasure because she selected it.
