To prevent further spread of panic, the officials of Nine Dragons City have issued a bounty, recruiting adventurers to eliminate this terrifying monster. Continue your saga on empire

Dungeon Number Two: The Haunted Library.

Dungeon Description: Also in recent times, ghostly occurrences have risen in the Nine Dragons City Royal Library, shrouded by a mysterious mist that has driven the librarians mad, attacking anyone who tries to delve into the library to investigate the situation. To restore the once peaceful and harmonious realm of wisdom, the head librarian Mr.

Know-It-All is recruiting adventurers to resolve this difficult issue.

Dungeon Number Three: The Rebel Camp.

Dungeon Description: A splinter group from the Black Dragon Legion has established a temporary camp within Thousand Bush Ridge, pillaging passing merchant caravans and committing many other atrocities. To eliminate the rebellion, the commander of the Golden Dragon Legion is recruiting adventurers to clear out this renegade force.

Completing this dungeon's related mission through an alliance with the Golden Dragon Legion can lead to extra rewards and prestige.

Dungeon Number Four: Corpse King Ancient Tomb.

Dungeon Description: In the mines to the east of Bull Rush Plain, a group of miners accidentally unearthed an ancient tomb. A terrible force erupted from within, killing most of the miners and turning them into zombies. According to some clues, it's believed that a group of corpse-driving warlocks from the Taiyin Sect are lurking inside the tomb, conducting some sort of wicked experiment.

This dungeon's related mission can be obtained through the Grand Yin Sect, granting additional rewards and prestige.

Dungeon Number Five: Nine Dragons City Prison.

Dungeon Description: Recently, a riot broke out in Nine Dragons City Prison. The rioters killed the jailers and the guards, taking over the prison. The Golden Dragon Legion has secured the entrance to the prison but is temporarily unable to clear out the inmates due to unfamiliarity with the terrain. Therefore, the commander of the Golden Dragon Legion is enlisting adventurers for this task.

Completing this dungeon's related mission with aid from the Golden Dragon Legion offers extra rewards and prestige.

Dungeon Number Six: Evil Jiao Cave.

Dungeon Description: A month ago, incidents of beast attacks emerged within the rivers of the southern Bull Rush Plain. Local hunters discovered a deep chasm cave by a river, and it's believed that an Evil Jiao resides within, posing a constant threat to the safety of the nearby villagers.

To reclaim their peaceful lives, the villagers are calling upon adventurers to investigate the truth behind this incident.

The six dungeons were each distinct with seemingly no comparisons to be drawn, or so it appeared to Xiao Buli, for whom it seemed to make little difference which dungeon to tackle.

"Alright, let's decide by the old method of flipping a coin," Zhang Yaoyang said as he took out a coin and tossed it into the air, slapping it onto his hand—"Heads or tails?" he asked Liu Xing.

"Tails," Liu Xing answered.

"I knew you liked it that way," Zhang Yaoyang teased as he revealed the result, which was actually a head.

"Haha, looks like it's my pick first," Zhang Yaoyang said. "Then I'll choose something closer, the Nine Dragons City Sewers."

"Then I'll take 'The Haunted Library,'" Liu Xing said.

"I'll take the Evil Jiao Cave next," Zhang Yaoyang said.

Bai Yunfei whispered a few words to Liu Xing, to which he nodded and said, "Corpse King Ancient Tomb."

"Then my third choice will be the Rebel Camp."

Liu Xing had no choice but to pick Nine Dragons City Prison in the end.

Gathering the intelligence materials for the three dungeons, the group huddled together to discuss for a while before deciding to start their dungeon run at three in the afternoon, aiming to clear one dungeon a day, which would allow them to complete all the dungeon raids in three days.

After dispersing, the first thing Xiao Buli did was to head to the Nine Dragons City Auction House to purchase skill books.

The Auction House in Nine Dragons City was located near the City Lord's Mansion. The auction rules were similar to the auction system in the World of Warcraft, but they only involved auctions within the vicinity of Nine Dragons City, and most of the items up for sale were from NPCs, with only a minority being player-sourced.

NPCs could also learn skills and equip gear, something Xiao Buli had experienced long ago, so he wasn't too surprised by this setup. Although it was only one city, the game's world was vast, and there were a great number of NPCs, so the Auction House was still very well-stocked.

Scanning through the skill books, a long list of options immediately flashed before his eyes. After a quick inspection, Xiao Buli noticed something strange: those skill books that seemed powerful often cost just a few Gold Coins, while those that appeared to be useless were, ironically, more expensive.

However, upon closer observation, Xiao Buli discovered the reason; the cheap skill books often had mediocre power but exceptionally high learning requirements, whereas those pricey yet seemingly unimpressive ones had virtually no restrictions at all.

There were a few skill books of Taoist Arts, but mostly they were for levels two or three in Taoist Heart, and those that could be learned with Taoist Heart LV1 were either quite useless or in conflict with the spells he currently knew.

After searching for a long time, Xiao Buli had not found any spells to his liking and ultimately only discovered a "Mind Revelation," which displays the target's health points. He had seen Hua Yueying use this skill several times, and it seemed quite beneficial in his memory so he bought it right away.

The skill book cost him two Gold Coins and then he spent another three Gold Coins on a "Fire Blade Skills" book, which adds fire damage to a unit's weapon and serves as a decent group damage buff.

He then specifically searched for Wild Beast Knowledge and to his surprise, he found some. There was only "Wild Beast Knowledge: Exotic Beasts Section" for 99 Silver Coins and "Wild Beast Knowledge: Demon Beast Chapter" for two Gold Coins.

Xiao Buli took them both, planning to give the extra copy of the Exotic Beasts Section to Jingci for a quest.

The rest of the skill books were not worth spending money on. Although he had 30 Gold Coins, which was quite a lot, he did not intend to waste all of them here.

With the remaining money, he headed to Longquan Sword Pavilion, and after taking some advice from Liu Xing, he decided to learn Gale Sword Skills. The hallmark of this swordsmanship was speed, where LV1 increases attack speed by ten percent, with each subsequent level providing an additional ten percent increase. At LV10, it doubles the attack speed.

Coupled with some speed-enhancing gear, Gale Sword Skills could indeed become Whirlwind Sword Skills.

Xiao Buli had saved all his battle experience without using it for a while, added to the experience from recently running a dungeon, he had a total of 1200 points. He used them all at once on Gale Sword Skills, immediately upgrading it to LV5, but advancing further wouldn't be so easy.

It looked like he would need to run some dungeons in the afternoon to earn more experience.

As Xiao Buli was thinking, he started practicing against a training dummy.

True to its name, Gale Sword Skills at LV5 increased his attack speed by fifty percent, proving to be a formidable effect. There was a reason why Xiao Buli chose this sword technique. His recently acquired "Fire Blade Skills" could imbue his weapon with fire damage, causing extra fire damage with each hit. As this damage was fixed, the faster the attack, the higher the fire damage inflicted.

Gale Sword Skills combined with "Fire Blade Skills" meant an exceptionally swift damage output.

After leaving the Sword Pavilion and planning to return to the city, Xiao Buli heard someone calling him from afar. Turning around, he saw a knight hurtling towards him at a breakneck pace.

The NPC's name was quite distinctive, "Sky Courier - Wind Envoy," apparently someone who specializes in delivering items.

Sky Courier - Wind Envoy said, "You must be Xiao Buli. Someone has sent you a package and a letter. I have faithfully completed the task, please accept them."

A dialog box popped up in front of him, asking whether to accept the package and letter, Yes/No.

A package and letter? Xiao Buli felt puzzled, wondering who would send him something.

Choosing yes, his bag immediately contained a long package and a letter.

Double-clicking the package revealed a light blue one-handed sword inside.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

Soul Slayer's Blade (One-handed Sword): Attack 11-11, Spirit +3.

Special effect: Soul Slaying — allows your attacks to deal full damage to ghost-type enemies.

Weapon introduction: This weapon was forged with a small amount of Beidou Xuanjin, emitting a faint white light. Although not particularly sharp, it seemed to contain a strange power.

A decent weapon indeed, while the attack power was low, 3 points of Spirit was very good for Mage Professions, not to mention the Soul Slaying special effect.

Reading the letter, he saw it was from He Suoju.

He Suoju—

(—Xiao, I really can't thank you enough for what you did yesterday. That old man turned out to be the legendary Sword God, Bi Huaxuan, who agreed to teach me the art of Heart Sword. I'll be following him from now on, haha, that's really awesome.

Of course, learning the Heart Sword isn't that simple. There are many prestige quests and contribution value tasks for the sect. However, this sword technique is definitely worth my time and effort. I must say, I owe you a lot, to think that I even suspected you of trying to harm me at the beginning. It seems not all people from big guilds are bad.

I don't have much to repay you with. This sword dropped from a rare elite I killed by chance in the wild. It's a weapon suitable for mages and not of much use to me, so since you look like you're from the magic system, I thought I might as well give it to you.—)

Reading the contents of the letter, Xiao Buli couldn't help feeling touched. It was rare to find someone who remembered and reciprocated kindness these days. Although it was unfortunate yesterday, if the result helped someone like that, it wasn't a waste at all.

Checking the attributes of the Soul Slayer's Blade again, he noted that while it wasn't a divine weapon, it was a decent transitional weapon nonetheless.
