Chapter 189 Luna's Obsession

Chapter 189  Luna's Obsession

[: Daniel POV :]

"Luna must have told you about us, the Demonians, so my requirements for you to harness my powers are simple,"

Sun said, his voice carrying a mixture of cosmic authority and an ancient history that resonated in the air.

"Aquire the rest of the four Demonian Kings located at each Holy Templar,"

Sun declared, the words hanging in the celestial space like a sacred decree.

"Well, that would be easy for me,"

I responded, a confident shake of my head reflecting assurance in my own powers.

There wasn't any issue with this quest since it has been my plan all along.

Moreover, the treasure that had been the object of my fervent hopes in the Forbidden Fruits held at each Templar.

"I'm glad that you're confident in your abilities, but that would be just part of the requirement you have''

''By accepting the quest, you could acquire my powers," He explained.

[: You have received a Chain Quest by Sun, one of the Demonia Kings :]

[: Conquer of Forbidden King Fruits :] - Conquer the 4 Forbidden Kings Fruits. 1/4 - - Rewards: ??? - "Before you accept this quest, know this, player,"

Sun's demeanour shifted abruptly, his aura morphing into something weightier.

"The moment you accept this quest, you will be carrying a burden that might be more than what you chew''

''Are you sure that you want to accept this quest, player?"

Sun questioned, injecting a note of caution into his words.

"I've been carrying a heavy burden since the very beginning, and what more can this give?"

I questioned.

Despite my lack of insight into the specific nature of the burden he's talking about, I knew what he meant to a certain extent.

Perhaps he wants me to carry the burden of history, a forbidden history that was meant to be forgotten, the result of rebellion.

I contemplated, a shiver running down my spine as I sensed the weight of an ancient hidden within Sun's cautionary words.

Suddenly, Sun's expression morphed into a blend of disbelief and amazement.

"I see, so you've been carrying a heavy burden, far more than what I had said," He acknowledged.

In that moment, it felt as though he had gazed beyond the surface, piercing through the layers of my soul.

I couldn't fathom what he had uncovered, but it didn't appear to be a revelation about my future.

Was it possible that he had glimpsed the latent power residing within me?

"Then, would you accept the quest?" Sun inquired.

Without a moment's hesitation, I responded, "Of course, I would accept it."

"Alright... I'm glad," Nôv(el)B\\jnn

He uttered, and in the subsequent moments, his avatar started dissipating into ethereal essences.

A palpable expression of sadness adorned his fading form.

"Can you convey one last message for me to Luna?"

He asked, his tone carrying a melancholic weight.

"What is it?"

I responded with a deep, resonant tone, my own emotions entwined with the somber atmosphere surrounding his final request.

"Can you tell her that I miss her and that I have been thinking about her?"

He said, his words carrying a poignant yearning.

"I will try what I can do,"

I responded, a sense of responsibility mingling with the empathy in my voice.

"I'm glad..."

he uttered, forming a fleeting but genuine smile.

Moments later, he completely disappeared, the essence of his being absorbed into my own, leaving behind an emotional echo in the wake of his final request.

The more freedom he fights, the more mana it will consume - I didn't realize, but by the time I opened my eyes, I found myself back in the room, and the Saintess more precisely, Luna inhabiting the Saintess was standing directly in front of me.

"Have you acquired his powers?"

Luna questioned, concern etched in her eyes.

It became apparent that what she sought wasn't just confirmation from me; rather, she longed to hear the words from Sun, her past lover.

The air in the room hung heavy with unspoken emotions, creating a poignant atmosphere charged with the weight of history and the intricacies of their intertwined destinies.

With sympathy emanating from my eyes, I conveyed the words that Sun had entrusted me to deliver.

"I did acquire the powers, but there is one more important thing that I have to tell you, Saintess,"

I said, the weight of the unspoken message hanging in the air.

"What is it?"

Although she feigned curiosity, her eyeballs betrayed a subtle tremor, revealing an underlying anticipation that whatever I had to say might be related to Sun.

The room became a silent theater of emotions, each moment pregnant with the unspoken ties between them.

"These words were from Sun, and he wanted to convey his last words to her,"

I said, and at that moment, her entire body trembled.

Even though she valiantly attempted to hold back her tears, it was evident that, at any moment, those tears might begin to fall.

"He said that he had missed Luna, he had yearned for her, and he had been missing her,"

I declared. Subsequently, the floodgates of emotion opened, and the Saintess, overwhelmed by the weight of Sun's farewell, began to cry.

The room bore witness to the raw expression of grief, painting an emotionally charged scene that echoed with the echoes of a love lost to the passage of time.

The room echoed with the haunting melody of the Saintess's tearful sobs. "Sun," she muttered between choked breaths, the name a prayer that hung heavy in the air.

Her whole body trembled, and as she looked into my eyes, the grief within hers sought understanding.

"I'm sorry," she whispered, her voice breaking, "I couldn't be there for him." She gazed at me with tears and overwhelming sadness. "He knows, Saintess. He wanted you to find peace,"

I assured her, my voice a soft anchor in the sea of her emotions.

In the quiet aftermath, she continued to mutter apologies, her tears an unspoken language of sorrow.

"Sun, I'm so sorry. I should have—"

She paused, unable to finish the sentence as if the weight of the words held her in place.

Without warning, her arms wrapped around me in a desperate hug.

"I miss you, Sun,"

She cried, her embrace seeking solace in my presence.

I didn't know what choice should I make, but seeing a woman who was broken by her past lover, it reminded me of my time where I had lost my loved ones.

I know that the choice I'm making now would be wrong, but watching her crying had made my heart soft.

"I'm here,"

I said softly, my words a gentle reassurance.

"He's a part of me now, and you're not alone."

She clung to the moment, whispering apologies and affections, treating me as if I were Sun himself.

The room became a sacred space, where grief and love intertwined, and I, absorbing the echoes of a love that had traversed time, stood as a silent witness to the complexities of the heart.

As the Saintess continued to cry, her sobs echoing through the room, at some point, she looked at me with eyes that seemed to pierce through the veil of reality.

"That's right, you're Sun, and you're my Sun,"

She declared, her crescent eyes brightening to an unsettling intensity.

I felt a shift in the air, a palpable change in her demeanor.

It was as if she had absorbed by madness and an eerie possessiveness gripped her.

However, all of the sudden, the room seemed to shrink, the atmosphere heavy with an otherworldly force.

I could feel Luna presence within the Saintess had become stronger and I felt a bad feeling about this. Summoning an unknown strength, she began pushing me towards her.

"You're mine, Sun,"

She whispered with a possessive fervor, her grip tightening.

I tried to push her away, but her strength surpassed any mortal resistance.

It was as if the Moon Goddess herself had appeared before me and for the first time in a while, I felt helpless. "Saintess, please, I'm not Sun. I'm Daniel,"

I said, struggling against her relentless force.

The room felt charged with a strange energy, and I could sense an unfamiliar presence taking hold.

"You have his powers, his essence. You are my Sun,"

She insisted, her voice a haunting melody that seemed to echo with the celestial.

Her emotions had overwhelmed me as I realized the depth of her possession.

"I'm not your possession, Saintess. I can't replace Sun,"

I implored, my words falling on deaf ears as her crescent eyes gleamed with a manic intensity.

As she pushed me further into her embrace, a sense of inevitability settled over me.

I was caught in a cosmic dance, entangled in the threads of fate and the remnants of a love that transcended time.
