Chapter 3331 - Acting Rex Mundi

"Without foundationeer caeli, the Prehistoric Path, order fragments, or people to fight, I haven’t improved in the slightest in the past three months." Tianming couldn't help but roll his eyes. He was getting rather impatient. Only Ying Huo and the rest relished their free time and messed around in Wondrium all day long.

"I can be certain that the growth of my orders have completely ceased without Myriadpath Valley." It was no wonder most elites in the outer mundi stopped being able to improve after reaching the first level of the Foundation stage. There were simply no resources! They had reached the peak of what they could achieve, given what they had.

It wasn't a matter of talent; nobody would be able to continue growing under those circumstances. Even the caeli they had access to were limited to those near the beginning of the Foundation stage.

It wasn't that progress was completely impossible for Tianming, it would just be incredibly slow compared to being in Myriadpath Valley. It could take up to a century for him to break through once in the Cosmic Cartography stage. This simply couldn't go on; no matter how heaven-defying his talent was, he wouldn't get anywhere without resource support or ancestral caeli to guide the way. Tianming still had a few millennia of life left, so there was hope that he could catch up to rival the elites of Myriadpath Valley, but the process would be grueling and slow.

"Most importantly, I need rivals!" That was something that he had begun to realize was incredibly important. When everyone was already weaker than him, he didn't know where he could find more motivation to grow. Many people languished in mediocrity in the exact same fashion.

"Forget it! I'll focus on training the Pentagram Suishen Art for now." Only battle arts weren't limited by the aforementioned bottlenecks, as they only required comprehension and a good place to practice.

Tianming's Trisoul Prime greatly boosted his comprehension. Using the stars of Skydome as an outline, he trained in the Pentagram Suishen Art using his immortal, radix, and primordial orders.

Unlike the explosive and powerful Greatsun Suishen Art, the Pentagram Suishen Art was vast, heavy, and as immovable as a mountain. It focused more on reinforcing one's body to generate power to break through obstacles. The cycle of the pentagram would make one invincible. Unlike the simple brutishness of the Greatsun Suishen Art, he needed to practice many different refined techniques with his sword.

"Let's take it slow." He couldn't just support the battle technique with rage like he could the Greatsun Suishen Art. Instead, he needed to focus more on comprehending the finer nuances of the art, which meant gradual progress.

The days passed in that fashion; Tianming didn't know exactly how long. Fortunately, he could at least keep himself occupied with training the art.

"If I'm desperate, I could head to the Myriadpath Celestial Formation for a bit. There might not necessarily be people waiting for me there." The formation itself was incredibly huge and could only be fully occupied by a hundred thousand people. However, he didn't use it just to be safe.

Right as he thought that, the Skydome stareye lit up. He started with surprise; somebody was coming. "Did they find me this fast?"

Though he was surprised, he wasn't scared. Even if he really was found, his strength in Infinitum allowed him to fight Myriadpath Valley without issue. He hid behind an asteroid and watched. The only people who could possibly come through the stareye were people from Myriadpath Valley.

"If it isn’t them, it could be Jiguang or Yaoyao or people they trust." He would soon learn the answer. Nôv(el)B\\jnn

A black ring disciple clad in blue appeared on the stareye. Tianming was stupefied to see him. "Gongsun Yan? Why would it be him?"

Gongsun Yan was Lan Yun's fifth disciple, Tianming's senior brother! The two of them had unresolved conflicts, but Tianming had risen so quickly that he’d left him in the dust. After learning how cruel reality was, Gongsun Yan had changed his tone and said that he had a good relationship with the esteemed Pathkeeper Li thanks to the time they’d spent together.

The real question was why Gongsun Yan had even appeared at a place like this. Was it a coincidence?

Fengqing Youmeng smiled and approached him with a graceful bow. "I’m Fengqing Youmeng. Greetings, esteemed guest from Myriadpath Valley!"

Gongsun Yan's eyes lit up at the sight of the alien beauty. "What kind of race are you? Why do you seem so odd?"

"Lord, I’m a divine wonderian."

Gongsun Yan laughed and said, "You call yourselves divine? What is the meaning of this?"

It was clear that he didn't know about the wonderians. It wasn't a given that people in Myriadpath Valley knew about them. Gongsun Yan laughed, but didn't press the matter, merely mocked her in his mind for being an ignorant primitive race.

He looked more closely at her and noticed that her cultivation level wasn't that much weaker than his. "I have a question for you. Is this the Skydome Mundus?"

"Yes, my lord."

"Then have you heard of a place called the Infinitum Mundus?"

"Infinitum Mundus?" Fengqing Youmeng shook her head in confusion. "My lord, I am unfamiliar with a place with that name."

Tianming furrowed his brows. Don't tell me that Myriadpath Valley is sending people to every single mundus to ask about Infinitum, and Gongsun Yan just so happened to be assigned here.... It wasn't impossible. It was clear that Gongsun Yan was on a mission and not just here to try his luck.

Gongsun Yan asked, "What’s your status here in Skydome?"

"My lord, I am the acting rex mundi of the Skydome Mundus. My parents have served as rex mundi for a long time and decided to leave worldly matters behind. As such, they have left Skydome temporarily in my care."

Gongsun Yan didn't know about wonderian biology, so he would naturally be ignorant of the fact that Fengqing Youmeng could no longer improve and reach the Foundation stage after losing her mate.

"Acting rex mundi?" Gongsun Yan's evaluation of her rose a little, though that was followed by a lower evaluation for Skydome as a whole. "Take me to your world."

Fengqing Youmeng's act held up pretty well. She had personally witnessed Tianming kill eminents from Myriadpath Valley, so she didn't fear someone who wasn't even a foundationeer at all. However, she knew that Gongsun Yan would definitely continue asking about Infinitum after she brought him down. He wouldn’t trust her words alone.

She had no choice but to bring him to Wondrium. The wonderians went about their daily lives; things had become much more peaceful for them after the rule of Meng Ying came to an end.

"This place is rather beautiful!" Gongsun Yan was rather stunned by the dreamy sights. The world of the wonderians was beautiful indeed. They even had a secondary world, the wondersky realm, but Fengqing Youmeng had no need to show it to Gongsun Yan.

Gongsun Yan went straight to the largest city in Wondrium.
