Chapter 558: Chapter 154 Honey Dates?_2
“Understood, thank you, Sage Serene,”
Upon hearing this, Link pondered and expressed his gratitude sincerely.
“Call me Serene Wizard instead, it sounds better.”
Getting up to leave, Wizard Selene made an offhand remark before leaving.
“Alright, Wizard Serene.”
Link readily assented and escorted Wizard Selene to the door.
Once Wizard Serene had driven her hover-car away, Link himself climbed into the spare vehicle and drove to the Senior Division’s administrative building.
Sage Palo had scheduled an appointment for him with Dean Frist. He couldn’t afford further delays.
Top floor, dean’s office.
“Hello, Dean.”
Just before sitting down, Link greeted.Nôv(el)B\\jnn
“Hmm.”
Dean Frist scrutinized Link and responded indifferently, casually asking, “Are there still barriers between you and the academy?”
Link bit his lower lip and decided to answer honestly, “Partly yes, and partly no.”
“Which parts yes, and which parts no?”
Dean Frist continued to probe.
“Yes for the part about being assigned without explanation, no for the rest.”
Link continued to reply honestly.
“Hmm.”
Dean Frist made no comment on Link’s statement, instead, he said, “Sage Palo told me you’re trying to advance to the academy headquarters to lie low, is that true?”
“Yes.”
Link explained, “I meet the criteria for advancement even without this mess.”
“That’s true.”
Dean Frist opened a drawer, took out two different styled badges, put them on the desk, and pushed them toward Link, “One is to unlock a villa, the other to unlock a lab. Consider them as my congratulatory gifts for your promotion.”
“Thank you, Dean.”
Gifts from his own faction’s Big Boss, how could he hesitate? Take it quickly!
Link received the two badges gratefully, not completely satisfied though, he seized the opportunity to say, “Dean, my vehicle and interstellar battleship were completely destroyed, all related to the academy. Is there any compensation from the academy?”
“Sly!”
Dean Frist stared at Link intensely.
Whether intentionally or not, a hint of domineering aura leaked out, startling Link until tears welled up in his eyes.
Perhaps, this could be considered as Dean Frist’s subtle punishment for Link’s blatant testing.
What was Link testing?
Link was testing whether the academy would allow him to retaliate against Lucia’s family.
If you cross me, I’ll cross you.
In Link’s opinion, there was no such thing as turning the other cheek after being hit.
Even if on the surface, Lucia’s family had been dealt with by the academy.
However, the Mixed Corps of Lucia’s family still resided in the Rear Camp of the Desolate World!
While teleporting home, Link still saw the badge and flag of Lucia’s family.
How could Dean Frist, who remained a secure headmaster of two institutes, always supplying top talents, and always having the upper hand in the gambits against all wizard organizations, not understand Link’s blatantly implicit thoughts?
But all he did, aside from the minor rebuke, was to ignore it.
Thought it over, and considering that the junior had indeed suffered a great loss and had accomplished great deeds one after another.
Dean Frist opened the drawer again, took out five items, and placed them one by one in front of Link.
“Is there really?”
By that time, Link had overcome the discomfort, his eyes had “refreshed”, he managed the embarrassment, saw the good stuff, and just wanted to grab it.
Just as he made a slight movement, his whole body froze.
In front of the distinguished level six sage, Link’s strength was irrelevant whether it compared to that of a third-level wizard or even a level five sage.
Being fully prepared, it was child’s play for Dean Frist to kill a level 6 Rock Demon and a level 5 Fire Demon.
If he really wanted to deal with Link, a simple breath could kill him.
“Don’t rush.”
A smile appeared on Dean Frist’s face as he said, “Choose three out of five.”
With these words, Link was unfrozen and could move freely.
A constipated expression suddenly appeared on Link’s face.
The five items on the table, each one of them struck Link’s heart heavily.
The first was a replica of the “Phantom Coupe”, practically identical.
The second was a “Lark” class starship, a notch above the “Hummingbird” in terms of rank, characterized by its fast speed and agility.
The most special feature was a mini “curvature engine” fitted for short-distance “warped travel”!
The third was a large-caliber Star-annihilating cannon, which was two levels stronger than the small-caliber Star Destroyer cannon that Wizard Cody had given.
Poor Cody’s gift was neither used nor destroyed.
The fourth was a Depleted world core that made the “Small World” covetous, three levels higher than what Sage Palo gave.
The ball lightning allowed the “Small World” to complete the fourth evolution at the rule level, a case of overweight.
Higher energy and materials were still needed.
The depleted world core was an excellent choice.
The fifth was an Insect Race Nest!
Although it was just a Nest Seed and required a large amount of resources just like when Link had to nurture the “Seed”.
However, it absolutely met Jasmine’s requirements.
It was clear that Jasmine, who practiced the two main features given to her by the “God Devouring Worm” cubs and the gradually awakening abilities, had attracted the attention of Dean Frist in the Senior Division.
Or perhaps, through continuous observation of Sage Rosenthal, Dean Frist had known about the “God Devouring Worm” for a long time.
A level six sage who claimed to be waiting for death but enjoyed fun stuff, staying under Dean Frist’s watchful eyes, certainly attracted more attention.
What do you think?
