He grinned and asked himself, "How long can Augustus continue to shine?"

Wrath replied, "For quite a while, I am guessing. If I have anything to do with it, forever. Regardless of my thoughts, this ranking has made you more popular, so you will gain more fans."

Kelvin nodded in agreement. "I will also gain more enemies. This has certainly put a target on my head that many people in the professional league will want to bring down for the popularity."

Wrath reminded him, "There's also the many people that you have offended. They will try to bring you down even if you are not so popular."

That made Kelvin snort. "If they are smart, they will avoid me. But I know that many of them are not smart. How can they even identify me? I am faceless. I look like anyone."Nôv(el)B\\jnn

Wrath chuckled and said, "That's not going to stop Alena and her parents from making a move on you, though."

Kelvin rolled his eyes. "Those bozos? I thought they were big shots nine months ago when I just started playing the games. But now? They are just bozos."

He doesn't think much of the Gold Lights for a good reason. Apart from their daughter, who is a speedster, the rest are just mediocre with beta abilities.

Her father's ability is to create a concentrated beam of light that does nothing but blind people. It is a nifty ability that robs people of their sight. As for the mother, she is an amplifier that can help her husband increase the range of his ability to a hundred meters.

Both of them don't have any means to damage others. Even the extra ability of the father has only made it so that the beam of light he produces with his hand can bend and twist like a rope to blind someone behind cover.

This has helped him survive many times. As for the mother, her abilities are to amplify others and make different abilities work together, instead of clashing. This and her reputation have helped her survive in the professional league.

People generally don't tend to kill amplify supers. They try to befriend them and work together with them because of their ability. Amplifiers are also not dangerous, so they can be trusted to some extent.

Her ability to make others work together has helped her to make powerful friends. Add in the backlash that anyone will face from her supporters if she is bullied or killed, and then a harmless woman like her can skate through the professional league. But he is not impressed with her.

Kelvin smiled and said, "Alena passed the advancement game and went to the professional league. Good for her. Hopefully, we can meet, and I can smash her face in for what she did to me."

Wrath shook her head and said, "It won't be easy. She inherited her parent's fan base, so she is not lacking in temporary destiny. It is a pity that you can't stream your activities to gather fans outside of the game."

He nodded. "I know that. I am handicapped in that aspect. That's why I should focus on getting more powerful abilities. Everything should be in place soon. Pauli should find the missing link soon."

Wrath nodded and said, "If Pauli doesn't find something, there is also the option to use the black market. I'm sure you can find a useful ability there."

He considered the option as he said, "But that will require a lot of money. Nothing in the black market comes cheap. Actually, things in the black market are more expensive than if they are acquired through official means."

Wrath rolled her eyes. "If kidnapping were official and legal, we would have far more problems than lack of money. Besides, you have saved a lot of money these past few months. I bet you can afford to splurge a little."

He is thinking about it because he can't bear to wait anymore. According to his preferred plan, Pauli was supposed to help him find the identity and address of someone with mental defense ability. If he takes that ability, he will be able to fight someone with a mental attacking ability.

He needs a mental attacking ability, which is also called a mind attack ability, and a decent forcefield ability to defeat a shapeshifter he has his eyes on.

This shapeshifter is in the professional league and is at least D-rank, so she is going to be difficult to deal with. But what makes this shapeshifter very dangerous is that she can transmute her skin into diamond.

Her ability to turn her skin into a layer of diamonds is why she can defeat A-rank Supers and go head-to-head with S-rank. It is a beta ability like his, but with it, she was able to set herself up as a courier between cities without the help of Corpos who tempted or threatened her to work for them.
