Chapter 491: - What Sort of Curse has Plagued Them?
"Now, I think it's time we talk seriously about the Eternal Challenge, Leon. I'm sure you don't want to miss out on this major event, right? Don't tell me you're not interested in getting
involved," Freya said.
Leon shrugged, replying nonchalantly, "I've seen the ads on the internet, and on digital boards all over the city. It's spreading fast, and I've noticed a lot of people discussing it on the forums too."
"Well then, you should know that the Eternal Challenge is going to be huge, with Immortal Legacy players from all over the world attending. There'll be a ton of sponsors, and the potential for gaining popularity is enormous." She paused, watching him closely. "What do you think?"
Leon chuckled. "Honestly, that does sound pretty interesting. I'm actually starting to enjoy having a bit of popularity."
"Oh, really?" Freya replied, surprised. "That's new. But I suppose you've become quite well- known-thanks to your... playboy attitude and your closeness to Princess Alora. Let's just say, a lot of her fans aren't too happy about it, and they really hate you for it. Hahaha."
"I'm glad to hear that," Leon said with a smile. "That just means I'm known by a lot of people, whether they like me or not."
Freya continued, "There will be a wide range of competitions—from individual contests to team-based ones. These include solo combat tournaments, monster raids, production classes, pet battles, and more. Plus, there are no restrictions on forming teams with people from any country."
"Interesting," Leon replied. "So, do I have a chance to compete in that?"
"Are you serious?!" Freya asked, incredulously. "After all the incredible things you've accomplished, you're still questioning your worth?"
"Because..." Leon hesitated. "My level is still too low. It'll raise a lot of questions if people find out about it. But I'm still really interested in the competitions."
Freya shook her head with a smile. "I don't think your level will be a problem for us. We can choose contests that don't require you to reveal your level. Besides, for the team events, your level isn't as critical if you've got the right strategy. But you'll need a strong team to back you up. I mean, aside from the solo contests, I'm sure the team competitions will be just as exciting for you."
Leon nodded thoughtfully. "Team contests, huh? Sounds like a good way to work with others... And you mentioned someone offering a team. Who was that?"
Freya giggled. "I think you can guess, right?"
"Who?" he asked, curious.
"RememberMe," Freya answered with a smile. "He said he wants to form a team with you at the center. He'll handle finding sponsors and take care of everything else, including assembling the team."
"Interesting," Leon mused. "Has he found the people for the team yet?"
"I'll ask him for an update," Freya replied. "But don't feel pressured to decide right away. I know you like your independence, so take your time."
"Understood," Leon nodded. "But I'm curious to meet him too. I mean, behind all his ridiculous behavior, he's apparently a pretty successful businessman."
Freya laughed. "Yes, his mind is always on business. Maybe that's why he's a little crazy and, well, goofy at times."
Leon chuckled at that.
"You've got plenty of time to deal with the faeries and finish your current tasks," Freya continued. "Meanwhile, we'll prepare more for the Eternal Challenge."
"Okay," Leon agreed.

Ivana was tidying up the room she was staying in. As she climbed onto the bed to straighten the sheets, something unexpected happened. Broken suddenly lay back on the bed, and in the confusion, Ivana lost her balance, falling directly on top of him. Her body now rested awkwardly against Broken's.
"Ivana..." Broken said softly, clearly surprised.
Ivana's face flushed bright red as she raised her head, meeting his gaze. "Oh, Broken, I'm so sorry," she stammered, hastily lifting herself off him, embarrassed by the situation. Suddenly, a voice came from the doorway. "Mr. Broken! Ms. Ivana! We have come to get you!" It was Cedric.
There was a loud creak from the door, which had been left open. Both Broken and Ivana turned their heads to see Cedric standing there, wide-eyed, while Cecilia quickly averted her gaze and shut her eyes.
"Oh, my apologies. I didn't realize you were in the midst of breeding at this hour," Cedric blurted out, quickly shutting the door behind him.
Ivana, still blushing furiously, slowly got up from the bed, mortified by the
misunderstanding.
Ivana looked confused for a moment, but then composed herself and looked up at Broken. "Good morning," she said with a small giggle. "I was just tidying the bed when you suddenly appeared out of nowhere."
"Good morning to you too, Ivana."
"Cedric seemed to think something strange was going on," she sighed.
"Yes, even though we weren't doing anything."
"And... were you hoping we would do something?" Ivana teased, giggling as she sat down beside him.
Broken chuckled. "No, of course not. How was your sleep last night?"
Ivana nodded slowly, smiling warmly. "I really enjoyed it. I wish you were here, too," she said, then quickly corrected herself, her face slightly flushed. "I mean, sleeping here at night is really nice. I'm sure you'd like it too-this bed is so comfortable."
"Alright, let's try it tonight then."
"You didn't ask me to sleep with you, right?"
"You told me to sleep on the bed."
"Yes, but Broken, you misunderstood me. I didn't mean for you to sleep with me on the bed,"
she clarified.
"You didn't?"
"Did you think I did?"
"No... but why are you thinking that?"
"I'm not!"
"Then where did that question come from?"
"It's because you made it sound like you were going to sleep with me on the bed," she said,
crossing her arms.
"No, I didn't."
"Yes, you did!"
"Okay, fine. Maybe I did," Broken conceded with a chuckle.
"Caught you red-handed, pervert! Looks like Melliandra was right after all."
"You're the one who forced me into saying this! Now even you are turning on me. Why am I
always in these situations?" he sighed dramatically.
"Because you're a playboy, just like Freya says," she teased, laughing.
Their playful banter slowly faded into warm smiles as they exchanged glances. Broken finally spoke, his tone softer, "I rushed back because I was worried about you."
Ivana nodded, her expression kind. "I'm fine, see?"
Broken nodded back, relieved. "Did Pawpaw do anything weird?"
Ivana giggled again. "Don't worry, he brought you three monster cores as a peace offering."
"What?" Broken exclaimed in surprise.
"Yes, he went out hunting monsters while I was asleep."
Broken shook his head in disbelief, muttering, "That little troublemaker..."
Broken scanned the room, searching for Pawpaw. He spotted the little kitten curled up
peacefully on the sofa, clearly satisfied and content.
"He looks so full and peaceful."
"Yes, I think so too. Let's just hope the faeries don't realize what he's been up to."
"I'm not so sure Cecilia hasn't already noticed," Broken replied with a chuckle, glancing back
at Ivana. He couldn't help but feel happy just being there with her. Something about logging
into the game to meet her again always made him eager.
"You happy being here with me?" Ivana asked, flashing him a warm smile.
"Yes," Broken answered simply.
"It's going to be a full month here. I wonder what kind of surprises they've prepared for us,"
she mused.
He nodded thoughtfully. "Yeah, I'm curious too."
Ivana shifted the conversation. "I've prepared some fruit for you. And Cedric mentioned that
we'll be meeting their Tribe Leader today."
"The one named Elaine?"
Ivana nodded. "Yes, her."
"I'm really curious what kind of person she is, and what sort of curse has plagued them forn/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
hundreds of years."
