Level Up: Voidwalker

Chapter 84: Head There Boy

Atlas watched as the Void Bullets tore through chunks of flesh, eliciting a pained roar from the monster. Undeterred, he pressed on, utilizing Void Step to reappear on its back, and drove his blade deep into its body and cast Void Blast through its body.

The Raptor King started thrashing its body around, but Atlas held on tight and continued to cast spells. He was thrown off and crashed to the ground with a thud, causing him to look at the creature's eyes that were locked onto him.

This made Atlas shiver, but he jumped to his feet as the monster hobbled toward him. He continued rushing forward, dodged a swipe from the monster, and slashed with both blades, slicing right through its hide.

Covered in the Raptor King's blood, Atlas watched triumphantly as the creature collapsed, its proud voice echoing in his mind, 'You did it, Little One! I'm proud of you and I also my old master would also be proud of your achievement.'

Afterward, the monster dissolved into azure motes, and Atlas found himself abruptly back in the real world. Happiness surged through him as he opened his eyes, the exhilaration of victory coursing through his body.

That's when the notification popped up, bringing a smile to his face.

[Well done, Voidwalker! You completed Level One and have moved on to Level Two. You may use the three Void Raptor options]

[Call Of The Void Unlocked: Allows the Voidwalker to summon monsters from whatever level you unlocked - Void Raptors]

'This is brilliant; now I can escape when the time comes,' Atlas thought. 'I wonder what the next level will be.'

Following that, Atlas pulled out an Orc's Delights Meat Box and started eating, which confused the surrounding soldiers, but they ignored him. He wanted to recover his energy so he could check out level two.

Once Atlas was finished eating, he checked his status.

[Health: 444→448]

[Mana: 1630→1650]

[Strength: 450→454]

[Stamina: 460→466]

[Intelligence: 380→384]

[Void Step: 1→2]

[Call Of The Void Unlocked]

Atlas smiled when he saw the small increases, which were better than nothing. While looking at the status, his stomach rumbled, 'I'm hungry. Hopefully, they will try to transport me soon so I can escape.'

Following that, he pulled out a Forest Boar Meat Box and started eating while watching the guards patrolling the dungeon. A few more days passed until the princess returned with the Nightowls.

He instantly noticed the woman assassin and smiled at her before speaking, ''I still haven't forgotten about our little promise. I do hope to see you again one day.''

''Shut it, Dahaka, we made no promise,'' the Nightowl woman said.

Atlas watched the princess step forward and say, in a severe tone, ''Come now, demon. We will take you to the ship.''

He nodded as the soldiers opened the cell and approached while warning him, ''Do not do anything, Dahaka, or I will knock you out again.''

''I will be good,'' Atlas responded with a fake look of resignation. ''There's no way I can escape, so I might as well try to prove my usefulness to the empire.''

As he said that, the princess raised her eyebrow as a curious expression appeared on her beautiful face, ''Why would a Father want a devil to serve him?''

Atlas shrugged, ''There's no point in trying to fight at every chance I get; I'll just be knocked out,'' he said.

The princess said nothing but connected a chain to the shackles before dragging him out of the dungeon and leading him through the fortress. Atlas spotted a practical place with no decorations, but the debris everywhere looked like a battle was taking place in the halls and corridors.

While glancing around, the princess commented, ''We took this fortress from the Wildheart Kingdom a few days ago. When Father received the message that the Nightowls were closing in on you, he came here on the imperial airship.''

Atlas didn't reply but kept walking until the smell of the sea hit his nose, causing him to smile as it was nearly time to test his new skill. The group traveled for another ten minutes until they reached the fortress's harbor.

As the Nightowls escorted him outside, Atlas couldn't help but notice the hundreds of guards lingering, their eyes fixed on him with unwavering hatred. This made him smile as he finally spoke, ''Princess, it was a pleasure to meet you, but I must go now.''

Afterward, Atlas activated Call Of The Void and summoned Group Two—the Eight Void Raptors, led by a powerful warrior. When the surrounding soldiers, Nightowls, and the princess saw this, their eyes widened in fear as a blue portal opened behind him.

That's when the eight Void Raptors surged out and lunged at the enemies; the Nightowls quickly rushed the princess out of the way as the dinosaurs tore into the surrounding soldiers, who were slow to react.

While this was happening, Raptor Warrior rushed out just as an arrow slammed into Atlas's shoulder, causing him to scream out in pain, but he managed to jump on the monster's back before shouting, ''Escape!''

The monster started sprinting through the harbor as spells landed all around them, but the fast dinosaur dodged everything as they spotted the fort walls looming in the distance. Atlas noticed dozens of soldiers closing in on them, which caused him to summon Group One and another Group Two using Call Of The Void again.

A portal suddenly opened, unleashing twelve Voidstalkers, eight Void Raptors, and an additional Warrior who swiftly attacked the nearby soldiers, their screams echoing as they were torn apart.

More Achaemenidians and Nightowls appeared; hot on Atlas's trail, they managed to hit him a few times as the attackers appeared out of nowhere. The warrior he was riding reached the wall only to shock everyone as it started running up and reached the top within seconds.

Atlas watched as the monster swiped at a group of soldiers who tried blocking its way before it leaped off the top and hit the ground below. He laughed and smiled as they left the fortress behind and sprinted toward the mountain in the distance.

The void monsters left behind caused chaos to distract the enemy. Atlas rode the warrior for a while but had to spend another two hundred mana, which left him low enough to keep the monster in this realm.

As they got further away from the fortress, he spotted a forest in the distance and pointed toward it, ''Head there, boy!'' he instructed the creature.

When Atlas spoke, the Raptor Warrior let out a call in response. It darted swiftly through the dense forest, deeper and deeper, until it finally stopped. The intensity of his wounds overwhelmed Atlas, causing him to tumble off the creature.

Three arrows protruded from his torso, and one had lodged into his left leg. Atlas grimaced, his gaze shifting from the shackles binding his wrists. He wondered how to get them off until a terrible idea appeared.

Atlas took out two of the good Health Potions and placed them in front of him before he held his hands out and spoke nervously, ''Boy, can you bite them off? It's the only way to use magic and be free of these things.''

The Raptor Warrior appeared horrified, yet it nodded resolutely as it snapped through Atlas's wrist, rendering him momentarily silent. He stared at the bloody stumps, bracing himself as searing pain surged through his body.

"Gah, this hurts," he grimaced.

Atlas noticed his Regeneration kicked in and stopped the bleeding, allowing him to use his stumps to pick up one of the potions. He downed it and felt it working by rebuilding his hands.

The pain was something else and nearly made him black out, but the horn in the distance caused the Raptor Warrior to chirp at him in a warning. Atlas stood up and climbed onto the monster's back, allowing it to flee deeper into the woods.

He spent more mana to keep the creature out, but it made him dizzy. Atlas shook his head and spoke quietly, ''Find somewhere to hide me, boy; I need some rest.''

Following that, the Raptor Warrior rushed through the forest until reaching the base of the Titan's Skull Mountain. The monster searched for a place and soon found a crevice under a pile of boulders.

The creature chirped, alerting Atlas, who climbed off its back and crawled into their hiding place. When he was inside, the raptor followed behind and wrapped its body around him for protection.

Atlas smiled before using four hundred mana to keep it summoned as he fell asleep. The monster was there for twenty minutes, allowing the creature to cover the entrance with dirt using its claws.

The following day, Atlas awoke to a roar reverberating through the ground. Sitting up, he found himself momentarily confused, trying to remember where he was. Then, in a rush, all the memories flooded back, prompting a broad smile to spread across his face.

Glancing down at his hands, he saw they had regenerated. With a smile, Atlas surveyed his surroundings; he noticed the entrance was now blocked off, and that was when he remembered the Void Warrior Raptor.

Atlas shook his head and began digging his way out, only to find himself staring up at the night sky high above. "How long had I been sleeping?" he wondered.

"I can't travel at night; it's too dangerous," he muttered before retreating inside the crevice.

Soon, he realized the space was large enough for his tent, so he settled in and relaxed for a while.
