Malevolent Warlock: Sin Of Eternity

Chapter 67 Wanted

67  Wanted

"Good morning guys" in an alleyway not too far away from the Eastern city guard house, a young man greeted.

"Morning boss.....ouch" opposite the young man, several others stood with bandages all over their bodies.

These were Carlson and his men. During their patrol of the undercity, they had received a variety of beatings which left them bruised all over.

Even Leon had his wrists completely shattered. He couldn't even heal it with his healing spell because the spell was only limited to flesh healing.

He had to let it heal on its own.

"Hehe, you guys worked hard, the 'bonus' came in early" Carlson assured his men. Before pulling out a bag of coins from his pouch.

"Gold!!!" Carlson pulled out a sparkling metal coin made from gold from the bag and flashed it before them. there was a saying in eldoria, Silver represented nobility and gold, the royalty. Everyone in the kingdom knew that 1 gold coin was equal to a 100 silver and so on and so Forth. However, the reality was much different from the general rule. This was because gold was controlled by the royal family solely, as such it was very scarce in the market.

Dealing in gold was a privilege for the rich and influential. For the guard house to reward them with that meant they truly appreciated their efforts.

"There you go"

"There you go" Nôv(el)B\\jnn

Carlson shared among them equally until he got to Leon's turn. Carlson reached into the pouch and pulled out about 30 gold coins. This was equivalent to 3,000 silver coins.

It was 3 times more than the others had taken, but for some reason none of them voiced any complaints.

After the whole confrontation in the undercity, they found the identities of the man they had fought in the undercity and his identity was surprising.

This man was called Yun feng, he was one of the 15 prodigies of the warlock clans. Specifically, from the Steel Gorilla Clan, a clan with a level 4 ancestor.

The 15 prodigies were talents from the clans with exceptional potential and skill, they were the moral support and the aspiration for all young warlocks.

A win against one of them was massive, especially when it was a fight against a level 1 mage

This 'win' got Carlson a lot of clout, and he wouldn't have gotten it without Leon's help, so he wanted to reward him.

"Thanks," Leon accepted the gold coins with a smile. Most of them thought Leon was just some brave and loyal person who cared for his comrades, but they were mistaken.

Leon attacking the warlock was premeditated. Firstly, he wanted to feel the difference between himself right now and that of a level 2 warlock. The second reason was also along the same line of thought.

He was a warlock surrounded by mages, apart from accumulating life-energy he wasn't very knowledgeable about the process of becoming a level 2 warlock, he wanted to know what made them evolve like this.

Also for the danger involved in what he did, Leon understood and was well-prepared for every outcome.

There was Arian and several other trump cards he still had to play.

"Oh, there's also this. We don't have to worry about it right now though, but just keep your eyes out" Carlson pulled out a stack of papers and passed them around.

These were wanted posters.

And at the very front of them were a few familiar faces.

But the ones that caught leons attention the most were his and Arians faces. They had been declared wanted.

This was bad.

"Apparently, the Tamlin group was sneak attacked by a level 4 warlock, and this resulted in numerous high-risk targets escaping their camp. Some have made it to Duan city and since they had already been captured prior, they are to be considered escaped convicts." Carlson explained.

The tamlin faction had just come back to duan city and they were already causing a stir. The rewards on these posters were enormous.

For just Arian, a bounty of 150,000 gold coins had been placed.

Even she might be thinking of turning herself in at this point….

"It's none of our business guys, I got us about a week of leave, so we can recuperate." Carlson knew that a man haunt was a bother, so he 'convinced' the chief that his men needed time to recuperate.

"Niceee"

"Best boss"

"Let's get wasted"

"Yeahhhhh"

The guys prepared for a party, Meanwhile, Leon walked to Carlson and asked for some time away. A lot of things had happened this past few days., and each of these events made Leon understand that maybe he was being too slow.

He needed to speed things up, or else things might not work out well.

To that effect, he could only think of one method.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

"Brother Badur, welcome back. How have the patrols been?" A faceless waiter said inside the faceless mercenary company's restaurant. Around him, several other faceless men could be seen loading bodies onto the back of a carriage.

"Another one…." Leon smiled upon seeing this scene. Another test had been held, this meant there was a new addition to the mercenary company.

"Hehe, not as talented as you though" Darknorth shook his head. He enjoyed Leon's test, it was brutal and a true show of what a fight among killers should actually look like.

This one didn't have that, it was just filled with schemes and conniving nonsense.

"What brings you here, by the way?" After a quick reminiscing, Darknorth asked Leon. The patrol mission was supposed to last for two weeks, Leon shouldn't appear until at least next week.

"Got leave, need something to busy myself with," Leon said casually.

"Well, there are a few things here. You can take a look," Darknorth showed Leon the Mission board.

However, he didn't expect Leon's next words to be

"Let me see your faction's secret list."

"You....mean???" Darknorth turned back slowly and matched Leon's gaze. The faction's secret mission lists could only be seen by faction members.

Leon asking to see them hinted something that really excited him.

Leon was considering joining his faction?

"Yes" Leon nodded

"I'll call over an elder right now" Darknorth said with glee
