My Wife Is A Miracle Doctor In The 80s

Chapter 366: 359: She Feels More Pain From The Injection Than You

Chapter 366: Chapter 359: She Feels More Pain From The Injection Than You

This time, it was just the two of them accompanying him. Shi Yuan would surely grow to be an excellent doctor in the future, whereas Tang Yuxin was a prodigy. He was clueless that his student’s skills could be so swift, ruthless, and precise, capable of mending bones in such a way. She was the first, and most likely, the only one he encountered.

As for this student, he couldn’t let her slip away; could he keep her for himself?

“Which side wants her? I’ll speak with them,” Gu Ning had already set his sights on Tang Yuxin. Regardless of who managed to retain her, he would certainly bring her to the General Hospital. Their hospital was in urgent need of skilled doctors.

“Not necessary,” said the dean, Tao, glancing at Gu Ning with delight. “She had already been chosen by the people at the Beijing General Hospital. Of all my students, they had to select my youngest one.”

“That’s good then,” Gu Ning said, lapsing into silence as he began to close his eyes and rest. It was around eleven at night when the injections were finally completed. His initial discomfort started becoming increasingly apparent.

Fevers, coughs, and aches all over his body had left him quite ailing. The room he was presently lying in was a private ward, distinct from the others. It could be considered special within the hospital’s collection of rooms.

It was entirely reasonable for Gu Ning, with his stature, to stay in the private ward.

Outside, Tang Yuxin could hear Gu Ning’s coughing.

She pushed open the door and walked over, only to find Gu Ning lying in the hospital bed, wearing his hospital attire while retaining an uncanny rigid demeanor, despite his severe illness.

“Hand me the thermometer,” Tang Yuxin extended her hand. She was suddenly concerned about his swift deterioration when he seemed perfectly fine just a moment ago. Surely, he hadn’t contracted SARS, right?

Gu Ning extended his hand, undid his shirt, and took out the thermometer. By chance, Tang Yuxin noticed the necklace that he had faithfully worn around his neck for decades.

He really was a nostalgic person. One who would, rather stubbornly, run straight into a wall until it killed him.

Tang Yuxin unexpectedly found her heart soften. Back then, it was he who found her, homeless and alone. He gave her his clothes, bought her food, and provided her with water.

Despite being young, he carried her all the way.

“What’s wrong? Not feeling well?” Gu Ning noticed Tang Yuxin was constantly gazing at him, her expression strange. He wondered if his illness had worsened.

“Hmm, no, it’s nothing.” Tang Yuxin took the thermometer. His temperature had risen again, almost touching 39 degrees. Normally, anyone would be delirious at such high temperatures. Looking at him, she was puzzled why he seemed normal from the outside.

A little while later, a nurse came in.

“Sir, I need to draw some more blood for testing,” she said. The hospital administration perhaps felt something was amiss with Gu Ning’s condition. After receiving treatment all day, his symptoms should have lessened, but instead, they had exacerbated.

Gu Ning rolled up his sleeve and extended his arm.

The young nurse quickly took the syringe, to draw blood.

When she inserted the needle, Gu Ning’s eyebrows momentarily furrowed.

The nurse took away the blood samples – two large full tubes – leaving one to wonder how long it would take for Gu Ning to recover his strength. Twenty-five-year-old Gu Ning, with his aloof demeanor, was not very talkative. The nurse didn’t quite know how she was supposed to address him, and she was too afraid to ask, thus she always called him “sir.”

After the nurse administered a fever-reducing injection, when the needle penetrated his vein, Gu Ning’s brow furrowed again.

When Tang Yuxin came in, Gu Ning already had the IV drip, sitting there looking a little worn out, his hand laid on top of the quilt, slightly swollen.

Tang Yuxin noticed something was wrong with his hand. She walked over, grabbed Gu Ning’s arm, and pulled the IV needle out.

“What’s wrong?” Gu Ning, perhaps delirious from the fever, hardly registered his messed up hair and distant gaze. He still retained a shred of lucidity.

“The IV missed the vein,” said Tang Yuxin as she placed the needle on the side, lightly pressed Gu Ning’s swollen hand.

Then she took his other hand and reinserted the IV needle.

“Her injections are more painful than yours,” remarked Gu Ning. His use of the word “painful” was rare since he hardly ever complained about pain.

Perhaps this time was a stark reminder of the saying – without a comparison, there’s no detriment. Yes, without a comparison, there’s no detriment indeed. Be it drawing blood or inserting needles, Tang Yuxin was incredibly swift and precise. This wasn’t only because she had a decade of experience as a doctor but mainly due to her masterful command of the Divine Needle technique.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

“Lie down for a bit,” Tang Yuxin helped Gu Ning to lie down. Even the strongest individuals, when ill, become uncoordinated children, afraid of the discomfort and the suffering.

Gu Ning’s sleep was restless, and his attendant returned rather quickly with the test results. His illness had precipitously worsened over the course of a few hours and had rendered him with a high fever that would not subside.

After a change of medication, Gu Ning seemed a bit more at ease. At the very least, he no longer felt too uncomfortable while sleeping.

Tang Yuxin prepared to use her own needles after placing them in alcohol. Were it anyone else, she would not have gone through such lengths to help. After all, they would get better anyway. Why should she waste her energy? But Gu Ning was different. Even though up to this moment she couldn’t pinpoint why Gu Ning was special, to her, he certainly was.

He was different from others and from his past self.

She retrieved her needle from the alcohol solution, pulled Gu Ning’s arm over, and began to insert needle after needle into his arm. When Gu Ning woke up, he saw Tang Yuxin inserting needle after needle into his arm – almost enough to turn him into a porcupine. Surprisingly, it barely hurt.

“It’s okay. It’ll help in a bit,” Tang Yuxin said softly, twisting the needle. She knew Gu Ning had woken up.

“I am speeding up your recovery,” she said. She began to pull out the needles as he regained his senses. Gu Ning didn’t understand what Tang Yuxin meant by “speed up,” but it was apparent that he was feeling much better. His headache was also considerably lesser, and his senses were sharper. Tang Yuxin got up and extended a hand to take out the thermometer from his underarm. As a result, she ended up glancing at his chest. His body was undeniably good looking; his chest was filled with attractive muscles. While not overly bulky like a bodybuilder, the muscles only added to his masculine charm. It was a shame he didn’t take full advantage of his natural physique. He would have made an excellent male model, she thought.
