Chapter 372: Enter The Underground Shelter



"Sure," Li Zhen replied, pulling out his satellite phone. After dialing a number, he waited for the call to connect.

"How is the situation on your end?" He asked.

A man's voice replied, "The mutant desert beetles suddenly retreated, but we are still dealing with the remaining mutant giant birds."

"What about the other areas?" Li Zhen inquired.

After a brief silence, the man responded, "I'm not sure about the north and east outer walls, but I heard Captain Li Tianyu and Captain Wu Lian are handling those areas."

"Understood. Retreat to the underground shelter as soon as you have dealt with the mutant giant birds," Li Zhen instructed.

"Yes, sir."

Ending the call, Li Zhen turned to Yao Ran and reported, "The situation at the south outer wall is under control. The soldiers and ability users are finishing off the remaining mutant giant birds. As for the north and east outer walls, Captains Li and Captain Wu are in charge, so there shouldn't be any problems."

Hearing his report, Yao Ran nodded. "Good. The wind is getting stronger. We need to head back now, or we will be trapped here when the sandstorm worsens."

Li Zhen agreed and said, "I will arrange the vehicles. Please rest for now."

After saying that, he informed Long Yu before leaving with his team to prepare transportation.

As they were on their way to the underground shelter, Yao Ran and the others remained alert. When they saw no signs of mutant desert beetles, they finally breathed a sigh of relief.

When the convoy approached the underground shelter, the soldiers guarding the entrance heard the sound of the engine. One of them activated his vision ability and looked into the distance.

Seeing the convoy approaching, he said through the walkie-talkie, "Another group of survivors is here. Open the gate.'

The other soldiers received the message and opened the gate. Soon, the convoy arrived. The soldier used Morse code to signal the drivers that it was safe to proceed.

After receiving the message, the drivers moved directly into the underground shelter. As they entered, a few soldiers quickly directed them to the parking lot.

Before long, the military trucks were parked, and the drivers stepped out. Seeing the vehicles had stopped, the soldiers and ability users also disembarked one after another.

While they were still getting out of the trucks, two staff members approached them.

One of the staff members said to the soldiers, "Comrades, please follow me to the First Army barracks."

After he finished speaking, Li Zhen turned to Long Yu and said, "Captain, I will find you later after we have settled in."
