Pokemon: A New Path

Chapter 51: Dragonite Decision

Chapter 51: Dragonite Decision

Dragonite had never been happier.

When it was young, no one had taught it, and it couldn't grasp those powerful moves on its own. It could only stand aside and watch the other Dragonites on the island show off their skills. It was known on the island as the "dumb Dragonite." Although no one mocked it, Dragonite still felt sad.

Especially since the Dragonite it admired was far more powerful.

Therefore, every night, it would secretly leave Dragonite Island and go to a secluded place to be alone with its thoughts.

Now, it had successfully learned Dragon Tail, increasing its move repertoire from four to five. This was indeed something to celebrate.

So, it began to wander around the pasture, proudly wagging its tail. The first stop was Cyclizar, who was resting under the eaves.

Dragonite used Dragon Tail and said to Cyclizar excitedly, "Roar!"

"Cyclizar?" Cyclizar looked puzzled, staring blankly at Dragonite.

Then, its eyes lit up, as if it had realized something. It stood up and used Dragon Tail in the air. It had also learned this move!

Dragonite: "Roar."

Under Cyclizar's confused gaze, Dragonite turned and headed towards the goat pen. It was like a child who had aced a test and couldn't wait to share the good news with friends.

The three Skiddo watched Dragonite's actions innocently. At first, they were a bit confused. But soon, the Skiddo seemed to understand. They had also learned many new moves!

The Skiddo began to showcase their newfound skills. Grassy Terrain, Synthesis, Solar Beam, Vine Whip, Razor Leaf.

Green light enveloped the entire pen. Thick beams of sunlight swept across the sky. Green vines danced gracefully, and emerald leaves fluttered like snowflakes.

The once-ordinary pen had transformed into a glamorous stage. The Solar Beam became a moving headlight, Vine Whip transformed into wires, and Razor Leaf turned into snowflakes from a machine. The three Skiddo became top models, showing off their moves in the dazzling light.

Amidst the bleating sounds, Dragonite was dazzled.

Meanwhile, Naoki, busy in the field, saw Dragonite running back after a while, still wearing the small red bag around its waist.

"Roar!"

Naoki was surprised. "What's going on?"

"Roar."

Dragonite pointed sadly at the skiddo, then at itself.

Naoki was confused and made a wild guess. "Did the Skiddo bully you?"

Dragonite shook its head, then demonstrated Dragon Tail again, ending with a triumphant

roar.

Naoki understood. "Now that you've learned Dragon Tail, do you want to learn other moves?" "Roar!" Dragonite nodded eagerly.

"I see!" Naoki began to ponder what other moves would be suitable for Dragonite to learn. At that moment, he remembered the Fruit Salad he had made earlier.

He had been hesitant to give it to Dragonite before, worried that its friendship level wasn't high enough and it might forget its existing moves, thus losing trust in him.

But now, looking at Dragonite's eagerness, he felt it was the right time.

After a brief consideration, Naoki presented the choice to Dragonite.

"I have a very special way of teaching you new moves."

Dragonite's eyes lit up with anticipation. "Roar?"

Naoki continued, "But this method isn't entirely safe. It might make you forget the moves you already know, or it might help you learn new ones."

"Roar." Dragonite hesitated upon hearing that it might forget its moves.

Naoki didn't try to persuade it, patiently waiting for its decision. Dragonite's mind flashed back to its life on the island and the impressive moves the Skiddo had just displayed.

After a while, it finally made up its mind.

"Roar!"

"You want to try it?" Naoki asked.

Dragonite nodded.

"Alright."

Naoki took a deep breath. Since he had finished his work in the field, he stood up and led Dragonite back to the cabin. He washed his muddy hands, then retrieved the remaining fruit from the cupboard.

There were probably enough berries for two servings.

Naoki cut the fruit into pieces, arranged them on a plate, and handed it to Dragonite.

Dragonite extended its claws to take the plate, looking at the fruit with confusion.

"Roar?"

'Could these ordinary fruits really help it learn new moves'?

"Let's give it a try," Naoki encouraged.

"Roar!"

Dragonite nodded, tilted its head back, and poured the fruit into its mouth, chewing a few times before swallowing it all.

After a moment, Naoki asked expectantly, "Do you feel any changes in your body?"

Dragonite concentrated, then its eyes lit up, and it exclaimed excitedly, "Roar!"

"You learned something? What is it?" Naoki asked eagerly.

The room was too small for Dragonite to move around comfortably, so they both went

outside. Dragonite flapped its wings and took off, its expression determined.

The next second, its body shot forward at lightning speed, so fast it would be difficult for an

opponent to react.

"Extreme Speed." The name of the move appeared in Naoki's mind.

A moment later, Dragonite flew back, looking excited, eager to try it again.

Seeing this, Naoki returned to the cabin and made a new fruit salad with the remaining fruit. But as he was finishing it, an idea struck him. He took out the Black Truffle from the cupboard and sprinkled some of the powder on the salad.

When Naoki looked down, he was surprised to find that the description of the fruit salad hadn/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

changed.

[Fruit Salad (B+): This delicacy is made from various fruits. It combines the flavors of different fruits and adds black truffle powder to make the taste richer. It is quite popular with

some Pokémon.

Cooking effect: Skill refinement. After eating, one of the Pokémon's moves will change randomly, and the chance of comprehending a powerful and rare move will increase.

Evaluation: Basic food, easy to make, a good choice for home and travel.]

"Increases the chance of learning rare moves?" Naoki raised his eyebrows. To be honest, this effect was within his expectations. He just didn't know if it specifically expanded the move

pool or increased the probability of learning a move.

After a brief thought, he handed the enhanced fruit salad to Dragonite.

Dragonite ate it eagerly.

After a moment, its eyes welled up with tears.

"Roar."

Naoki felt a pang of concern. "Did you forget a move?" he asked.

Dragonite swung its tail, trying to use Dragon Tail, but failed.

Oh dear, it forgot it right after learning it. How unlucky!

After a moment of thought, Naoki comforted it, "Don't worry, you still remember how you

learned Dragon Tail, right?"

"Roar." Dragonite nodded, looking dejected.

Naoki reassured it, "So, the experience is still there. As long as you practice again, it shouldn't

take long to remember the technique."

Having experienced the power of the Fruit Salad firsthand, Dragonite felt a bit hesitant. It

didn't dare to continue and went outside, looking pitiful, to start practicing Dragon Tail

again.

Naoki followed and stood under the eaves, watching Dragonite train diligently. He couldn't

help but sigh.

After a while, he murmured, "We're out of fruits at home. It seems I need to go to town to get

some more."
