Chapter 1234: Small harvest
Chapter 1234: Small harvest
Watching the massacre from above, I couldn't help feeling amazed by the power of the hobgoblins.
They were the ones that were firing the spells at the demons.
After a bit of training, they had become quite powerful and quite skilled with their spells.
They had no problem raining these spells down on the demons and it didn't seem like they would run out of energy.
I never thought that they would be able to grasp the power that had been forced into them this quickly.
But thinking about it, it did make sense since they had been working on this the entire time. Even when we were flying on the back of the wyverns, they had still been practicing to the worry of the others.
After all, it was terrifying to have these hobgoblins using spells like this while they were on the same wyverns as them.
All I could say was that they were even more studious than me since they didn't need sleep.
They were able to practice with the elemental energy that they now possessed twenty four hours a day.
With this kind of practice, it was only natural that they would be able to master it quickly. Since there were only that many demons with corrupted energy in the first place, there was no need for me to actually do anything. All it took was Ariel using the mist to purify the corruption energy of the demons, there was no need for me to do anything.
As for the ordinary demons, they just weren't a match for the wyverns that we had brought with us.
The demons might be stronger than normal humans, but wyverns were a completely different story.
There was a reason why wyverns were considered S Rank Monsters in the first place.
When it was over, I looked at Ariel to ask, "How many were there?"
"It's far less than we expected. There were only around a few thousand of those corrupted demons. It seemed that most of the army was just normal demons, it didn't seem like there were that many of those with those orbs that were here."
A few thousand in an army of close to three hundred thousand, this was a very small amount.
But just that was enough to take down the Poppin Kingdom.
That just went to show just how powerful those corrupted demons were when facing those that didn't have a way to deal with them.
Still, this was a very small harvest for what we expected.
"Did you manage to get them all?" I asked her when I finally gathered my thoughts.Nôv(el)B\\jnn
Ariel shook her head before saying, "The demons ran forward without care for their lives to take back some of the orbs." She slightly knitted her brows before saying, "The way that they went for the orbs, it wasn't natural."
I gave a nod with a faint smile before saying, "They have a better understanding of the orbs in the first place, so it's only natural that they would do something like this. They won't let us take the orbs from them that easily."
Ariel gave a sigh before saying, "I still don't feel good letting them take it though."
I just gave another nod in response before saying, "Don't worry about it, this is what we had already expected."
Though there was still a problem that we didn't have enough of the orbs for our experiments. "It's fine, I can make do for now. After all, there's still more demons to wipe out, right?"
Puffer's words brought me out of my thoughts.
I looked at her with a surprised look before slowly nodding while revealing a smile.
I knew what she was referring to, but I was surprised that she would be so into this.
Though thinking about it, she was someone who cared very much about her experiments, so it did make sense that she would be this bloodthirsty.
"Alright, there's nothing to gain from thinking too much about this. All that we need to do now is take care of the rest of the demons and then we can head out on our way." I said in the end with an affirming nod.
They all nodded back in response and started focusing on the demons.
But during this time, I received a message.
It was a message that came from the Shadows that I sent to watch over the Poppin Kingdom's king and generals.
When I heard about them, I knew that I had to send someone to watch over them since I didn't want them to get involved.
It wasn't that I didn't believe in them being able to handle themselves, I just didn't want them to get caught up in the crossfire while we fought.
The things that we used to wipe out the demons were attacks that had a large area of effect in the first place.
There was no doubt that those from the Poppin Kingdom would want to get involved in this battle that would decide the fate of their kingdom. It would only make sense that they wouldn't want to leave everything in the hands of others.
Only if they were to get involved, there was no doubt that they would have been caught up in our attacks.
In the end, they were still our allies and fellow members of the human race, it was best if they didn't get caught up in this.
But now...
"It seems like the greed of people really isn't something that can be held back that easily. Even when there's the crisis of one's kingdom being destroyed, there are some people that are still trying to find ways to get ahead in this world."
I shook my head with a faint smile as I read the message from Shadow One.
"I guess I have to deal with this or it will be a problem if they were to work together with the other kingdoms." I said with a sigh as I tossed the message away.
Then I had Joan fly down to where the king and the general of the Poppin Kingdom were.
