460  459: Who Are These Monsters?

"Who gave you the guts to treat me like an ant?"

The instant this voice resounded in Pamela's ears, she saw Gunnarr move as fast as lightning, and then he appeared in front of Corey, not her!

He saw him raise his fist, and in an instant, brown gauntlets that were lit up with runes appeared on his hands. Without wasting a single second, Gunnarr's fist moved towards Corey's head at a speed that caused the wind to be in chaos and the ground to tremble.

All of this happened in a span of two seconds.

Pamela instinctively stretched out her hand to protect Corey. Although she knew that Corey was much stronger than even an elite tier 2, the power behind the fist was immense and she wasn't sure if Corey would be able to handle it.

'He's still a Tier 2, and Gunnarr is comparable to an elite Tier 5.'

CLANG!

The instant Pamela had this thought, an extremely loud clang resounded, and she frowned heavily due to how loud the sound was. However, her eyes widened as she gazed at a scene that she never expected to see.

Right in front of her was Corey holding his axe diagonally in front of him to block Gunnarr's massive fist.

"Impossible! What are you?! A Tier 2 Outsider like you should not have this sort of strength!"

Gunnarr shouted with his voice filled with disbelief and a tinge of suspicion as he watched Corey block his fist with his axe. Although he could see Corey's arms trembling, the mere fact that Corey was still standing in one piece was a testament to his strength that he was not meant to have as a Tier 2.

"Don't tell me you're actually a Tier 4? Have you been secretly hiding your actual Tier?"

Gunnarr asked since the only answer he could come up with for Corey's ridiculous strength was the fact that Corey was hiding his actual tier.

However, to his surprise and disbelief, Corey nodded.

"You're right…"

Corey deliberately paused, and Gunnarr's ears perked up.

"...I'm actually a Tier 10 in case you don't know."

Corey gave a smile of mockery and disdain, and Gunnarr's expression froze for a fraction of a second before his expression morphed into one of anger.

"You dare mock me?!"

The lightning on Gunnarr's body blasted out of his body and so did his aura. Corey laughed when he saw this, and Gunnarr was about to swing his fist but he stopped and snarled.

Corey had instantly teleported away, but his laughter could still be heard. n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

Gunnarr's eyes moved to his far right, and he saw Corey appear at a distance of approximately twenty-five meters from him.

"Restrain him… Don't think I'll do all the fighting for you. My bones cracked when I blocked his fist. If not for the Earth Infinity Crystal that made my body's defense high, I'd have suffered more than just cracked bones.'

Corey said out loud while adding the rest to his heart. He glanced at his trembling arms with a slight frown. Although he was using Dream Healing to heal his cracked bones, the chaotic energy that entered his body from Gunnarr's fist was proving difficult to expel from his body or destroy in his body.

'When I got injured from the Capra King's attacks, it wasn't this difficult to heal. The Capra King was more powerful than Gunnarr, but why is it more difficult to heal… ohhh… I see now… It's because the Capra King had the Infinity Crystal.'

'The energy of the Infinity Crystal is mainly mana, and because of this, the Capra King's attacks had mana in them which is much easier to heal from compared to chaos energy… Although I know that the energy of Infinity Crystals is not purely mana, I don't know much at all, so I'll leave it for when I get stronger.' 'I can't get serious injuries at the moment since there's a possibility that we'll have to fight an Ascendant, and I'll also have to be careful when facing the Ascendant or any other Tainted. Having to waste more energy and time to heal the injuries I sustain from them would be frustrating and annoying.'

Barely a second had gone by after Corey told Pamela to restrain Gunnarr, and just as he was about to continue his train of thought, he heard a loud bang.

He shifted his gaze away from his arms and looked up. His eyes flickered slightly when he saw Gunnarr unleash a punch on Pamela but the air in front of Pamela flickered to life, and his Eyes of Omniscience saw the runes that suddenly appeared in front of Pamela before Gunnarr's punch shatter.

He saw Gunnarr frown, but in the next moment, Gunnarr's eyes gleamed coldly and he did not stop. He suddenly unleashed a barrage of punches.

Lightning appeared around his gauntlets, and his hands moved so fast to the point that by the time Corey saw a fist move, thirty punches had already landed on Pamela.

However, Pamela's expression did not change and the runes in front of her kept on appearing and shattering with every punch that landed on it. The ground beneath and around them cracked and a crater was formed as a result of the shockwave behind Gunnarr's attack and Pamela's defense.

However, despite the crater beneath them, both Pamela and Gunnarr stood in the air with Gunnarr unleashing punches after punches while Pamela stood still with a calm and indifferent expression.

Gunnarr's punches became faster and faster, but Pamela's expression remained the same throughout. It was one of utter calmness, however, her eyes had changed.

Gaze of The Seraph

Three seconds and a thousand punches later, Pamela made a movement and Gunnarr noticed.

She pointed at the ground with two fingers and then raised her fingers. Gunnarr frowned but didn't stop his barrage of punches, however, a second later, he frowned.

He looked down and his eyes widened when he saw multiple tentacles made out of stone come at him at an extremely fast speed. He stopped punching, and then he moved back.

The first earth tentacle appeared before him and he dodged it. The second came and he also dodged, but when the third tentacle appeared before him, he punched it.

The instant he punched it, the earth tentacle shattered, but the debris and shattered parts moved towards Gunnarr and attached themselves to his body at a speed he could not react to.

"What the?"

Gunnarr's eyes widened in disbelief as he felt his body becoming heavier after the debris and remnants of the earth tentacle attached to his body.

He moved his hand, but when he did, something he would have never expected to happen in his entire life and even after his death happened.

The lightning surrounding his body paused, and a second later, they moved and bound him.

"WHAT?!"

Gunnarr shouted in disbelief as he looked at his power, which was stopping him from moving.

"How-!!!"

He was about to speak but the remaining earth tentacles bound him in place, and the instant this happened, he heard it and felt it.

He felt the space behind him getting manipulated, and then he heard the last sound before his death.

SHIIIINNNGGG

Two seconds after he heard this sound, the world spun before his eyes and he suddenly had a thought.

'Who are these monsters?'

With this thought as his last and final thought, the light in his eyes faded away.
