Ultimate Village Doctor

Chapter 56: 56 Impulse

Chapter Fifty-Five

Long Xiaoshan had not believed in ghosts and deities before.

But ever since he acquired the Jade Purifying Bottle and saw Chun Tao's soul during her treatment, he knew for certain that ghosts existed in this world.

Afterward, he became very curious, deliberately looking for books and searching online.

This search indeed yielded some results.

He learned that many bizarre incidents were not unfounded rumors.

Now, seeing the black handprint on Shen Yuerong's neck, he made some connections, as there were similar accounts in certain strange cases, akin to signs of being haunted by spirits.

Of course, he could not be one hundred percent certain right now.

After all, he had not witnessed it with his own eyes.

However, although it was only their second meeting, he felt a sense of friendship with Shen Yuerong; the chat on the bus had been quite enjoyable. A haunting could either be a trifling matter, leading to a serious illness, or it could be fatal.

He didn't want anything to happen to Shen Yuerong.

So he asked, "Sister Shen, have you been sleeping poorly recently, often having nightmares, and feeling quite unwell?"

Shen Yuerong looked at Long Xiaoshan in surprise and asked, "How do you know?"

"I am a barefoot doctor," Long Xiaoshan said without revealing the truth, because such matters were too metaphysical to discuss in front of many people, and she was also the village head.

Shen Yuerong knew Long Xiaoshan was skilled in medicine, as he had previously cured a baby suffering from food poisoning on the bus.

Therefore, she said trustingly, "I haven't been getting better even with medication. Do you have a way?"

"It's not convenient today. How about I come over tomorrow?" Long Xiaoshan had not encountered a ghost before and wanted to make some preparations. Moreover, having Chun Tao by his side was not conducive to catching ghosts.

"Sure, come to me tomorrow," Shen Yuerong replied, glancing at Chun Tao with a knowing smile.

She thought to herself that this little farmer was quite the philanderer, bringing an attractive village woman to the market not long after being released from prison.

After bidding farewell to Shen Yuerong, Long Xiaoshan got in the car.

With Chun Tao, he left the market.

Driving on the mountain road to the village, he saw Chun Tao sobbing in the passenger seat. Long Xiaoshan quickly stopped the car and asked, "Chun Tao, do you feel wronged?"

Before responding, Chun Tao threw herself onto him, causing Long Xiaoshan to quickly embrace her.

"Little Xiaoshan, I don't deserve your efforts. If anything were to happen to you, how could I explain it to your family?" Chun Tao cried out of fear because she had seen the police draw their guns.

"What do you mean deserve? You're a woman, I'm a man, and it's only natural for a man to protect a woman. It was my fault for letting you wait there alone," Long Xiaoshan said, patting her back gently with both hands, speaking tenderly: "Don't worry, as long as I'm here, no one will harm you."

Chun Tao's body trembled slightly. Being held by Long Xiaoshan, she felt a masculinity and a sense of safety she had never experienced before, which triggered an impulse that made her lift her head and ask, "Little Xiaoshan, do you think I'm pretty?"

Long Xiaoshan was momentarily stunned before saying, "Of course, you are pretty."

Biting her lip, with a hint of shyness in her eyes, Chun Tao asked, "Then would you take me as yours?"

He promptly started the pickup, driving back toward Longyang Village. Arriving at the entrance of the village, Chun Tao hastily said, "Little Xiaoshan, let me off here, I'll go home first."

Long Xiaoshan needed to return to the farm, and after such an encounter with Chun Tao, heading back together would have been rather awkward. So he said, "Alright then."

Chun Tao got out of the car and, leaning on the window, said, "Little Xiaoshan, I'll come over tonight to cook for you."

After she spoke, Chun Tao hurriedly ran into the village.

Watching her go in, Long Xiaoshan took several deep breaths before driving toward the farm.

After arriving at the farm, Long Xiaoshan unloaded the purchases. Couple Long Dashan was thrilled to receive many new clothes and shoes, scolding him for spending recklessly while still showing satisfaction on their faces.

Long Xiaoshan then took a litter of puppies down to a room.

The puppies were recently born, and Long Xiaoshan brought a box of milk, opened it, poured it into bottles, and mixed in some Silver Spiritual Liquid from the Jade Purifying Bottle.

He fed a bit to each puppy.

After doing these things, Long Xiaoshan pondered how to help Shen Yuerong.

While he was not completely sure that she was haunted, there was a high probability. However, Long Xiaoshan had never banished a ghost and was not very knowledgeable about it, so he had to rely on the internet.

He took out his phone, connected to the internet, and started searching online.

With the internet being so advanced today, his search indeed turned up many methods.

However, a lot of them were fabrications or invented in novels.

After looking through them, although he did not understand talismans, there were some generally accepted items said to expel ghosts, such as a Peach Wood Sword, Black Dog Blood, a live rooster, and Child's Urine.

These were not hard to find.

After considering, he went to make preparations.

The afternoon quickly passed, and with the farm workers gone home with their provisions, Couple Long Dashan also stayed for dinner. Finishing their meal, they said, "Xiaoshan, aren't you going back to sleep today?"

"Not going back, I'll stay here and watch," Long Xiaoshan answered.

"Indeed, you should watch. There are surely those envious," He Xiangyue spoke up, "Old man, you stay here with Xiaoshan and take turns."

"Alright," Long Dashan agreed.

"No need, no need," Long Xiaoshan thought of that beautiful silhouette and quickly said, "I'll be fine alone. Dad is not well; he needs more time to recover."
