Chapter 78 Pirate Dungeon Rewards
When Chad, Victoria, and I opened our chests, inside each of them, in order, were a cutlass, a sash, and a compass.
"Take yours out first Chad. I should be able to tell your item's special abilities," I said.
"Ok," Chad said as he took the sword out of the chest. He attached the scabbard to his belt and then drew the sword. "I really like this! It makes me feel like a real pirate!" He swung and slashed the sword through the air.
"I just wish we could dress you up like a pirate! Then you could be our resident revenant pirate captain!" I said.
["Clothing" tab opened in Shop]n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
"Interesting! It looks like as an Omni-Vampire, I make clothing appear from thin air," I said.
"What? Now you can make clothes? Make me a pretty dress!" Victoria said.
"Would you really fight in a pretty dress?" I said.
"Yeah, of course, I would! Pretty dress me please!" Victoria said.
"I will in a second. I have to make Chad a pirate outfit first," I said as I opened the system menu.
There were so many clothing options that it even had a search function. I put in "Pirate Captain's Coat Brown with Green Trim" and got back one hit, but it was the perfect coat for Chad. I went with the green trim because of the color that his chest shined before he opened it. I felt green really suited him too.
It was a brown leather coat where the collar and lapels were a deep green. I got him a brown tri corn hat, a green shirt to wear under the coat, brown pants and boots.
He looked like a real pirate captain. It was incredible. He looked like a new man. It appeared he felt like a new man too because he was holding his back straighter, his chest out, and his chin higher than before.
"Feeling better now, Chad?" I said. "Looking sharp I might say. You really look the part of an invincible revenant pirate captain." Stay connected through empire
"Thanks!" Chad said, smiled ear to ear. "I feel incredible! I feel like I could die in this coat over and over and never get tired of it."
"That's the spirit, Chad!" I said. "Now I need to get Victoria a pretty dress and then I can see what your new sword does."
I searched "pink dress with black trim" in the shop menu, and a few options came up. I chose the one I thought suited Victoria the best and gave that one to her and then chose the second best one and put that in my inventory to surprise her with later as a gift. I'm always trying to think ahead.
Victoria put on her new dress and she looked amazing. She was always gorgeous but she looked especially pretty and girly in this new dress of hers. She paired it with black combat boots and called it an outfit. I'd have to say I agreed.
Now back to the actual work. Figuring out what our items did. I tried to analyze the sword and the system popped out some information for me.
[The Captain's Cutlass: This versatile rust-proof, self sharpening blade can be soul bound to its owner. This allows the owner to equip it from anywhere. Abilities are Revenant's Revenge, Ghost Hunter's Edge, and Spectral Beacon]
[Revenant's Revenge: Allows one instant revival with a one-hour cooldown period. User must be holding the cutlass at time of death]
[Ghost Hunter's Edge: Can cut through specters, ghosts, and other incorporeal beings as if they were flesh and blood]
[Spectral Beacon: Emits a green glow whenever specters, ghosts, and other incorporeal beings are nearby. Glows brighter the closer the proximity]
Wow! That sounded like a badass weapon. An excellent weapon for Chad's arsenal. All of those abilities seemed useful when exploring the dungeons and otherwise.
The Ghost Hunter's Edge seemed pretty specific, so it might not be useful often, but he could negate that with the Spectral Beacon. All Chad would have to do is walk up to each portal to see if the sword glowed and go through one when it did. Instant usefulness!
The Revenant's Revenge was another great ability, but I didn't want it to become a crutch for him. I felt like with enough experience and training, that Chad could learn to shorten his revival time continuously until he was always instantly reviving. Or maybe even just fully undying. Still, it was a great ability to have in his back pocket until he could catch up through training.
I relayed these abilities to Chad and he smiled even wider. He really seemed to be having the time of his life. Or his unlife. Regardless, he was happy and not thinking about his terrible ex girlfriend anymore. It was great to see him like that.
Now, it was time to see what Victoria's item was and what it could do. I looked at the item in her hands. It was a dark red crimson sash worn around the waist. I tried to analyze it and the system popped up information about it into my view.
[Captain's Sash: This stylish dark red sash is worn around the waist and changes to complement any outfit. It's abilities are Perfect Balance, Living Silk, Indestructible, and Supernatural Grace]
[Perfect Balance: Wearer always lands gracefully on their feet and maintains balance in any condition]
[Living Silk: Can extend, reshape, and move independently to grab onto objects or surfaces, aid in acrobatic maneuvers, or catch the wearer if falling]
[Indestructible: Can not be torn, ripped, pierced, burned, or otherwise damaged in any way]
[Supernatural Grace: Passively increases the wearer's natural grace and agility, especially when performing acrobatic maneuvers]
Holy crap! What an incredible item! I couldn't wait to see it in action and watch Victoria kick all kinds of ass with it as well as just watch her move. She already had tons of grace and agility. Who knows what she could accomplish with that further enhanced. I told Victoria what her sash did.
Now, it was about time I looked at my item. It looked somewhat like a compass but it instead of a flat circle it was a sphere. This allowed the needle to point in any direction. I concentrated on pulling up information about this mysterious item.
[Captain's Compass: This small and intricate device allows the user to locate and interface with the dungeons. Abilities are Portal Detection and Dungeon Control Interface Locator]
[Portal Detection: Allows the user to find and locate all active and locked dungeons. Can be used in conjunction with a map or Dimensional Interpreter for pinpoint accuracy]
[Dungeon Control Interface Locator: Allows the user to locate the control panel for each dungeon which allows dungeon modification and information gathering]
Wow! That was exactly what I needed. I didn't need some cool equipment that made me stronger. I needed something to help me with the dungeons. All of these rewards seemed perfect.
The Dimensional Interpreter it referred to must have been the system I have. A portal opened for us to walk through and a key hole appeared to lock the dungeon but I wanted to see if I could take Nigel's treasure with me.
I picked up a coin and tried to put it in my wallet. Instead it went into my inventory as a gold coin. Huh. Well even though I could put it all in my inventory, it would take forever to do so. So instead of doing it by hand, I would summon my domain to do it for me.
I concentrated on manifesting my domain. It took some concentration, but Midas helped me. Once the domain encompassed the entire cave with all the treasure inside, I ordered the mouths to gobble up all the treasure so it would get deposited into my inventory.
It took a good thirty minutes of pure concentration, but I got it done. I now had a literal ton of treasure and gold and not enough time in the world to spend it. Perfect.
What do you think?
