Chapter 1189 Finding The Second Soul Fragment
-----
(Blake's POV)
We arrived at Russia at long last. The building that the teleportation device was connected resulted being a huge, abandoned edifice. It was at least fifty floors high, and most of the windows were broken, so the snow leaked in here.
Thankfully the teleportation device over here was still working, or the whole thing wouldn't had worked either way. If the device here didn't work, then even if the other one was repaired, it would have been impossible to get here.
Nonetheless, we were here, time to get this done.
"It's cold as hell in here," said Zack. "I bet nothing can survive in this place…"
"Maybe giant ice-adapted mutants could!" Saphira said. "Oh, like those!"
She pointed from the window down into the abandoned, snow-covered city below.
There was a pack of yeti-like, huge white furred gorillas or something.
They had more than one pair of arms, and also more heads, and looked grotesque too.
So I guess they weren't truly gorillas.
"We would be better off avoiding these," I said. "Let's go through here for now…"
I called the Neutonium Mother Core for guidance, and she guided us through the building, as we moved upstairs until reaching the last floor.
In there, there was a huge dome protected by black golems, which had long ago been deactivated due to the extreme cold.
"We're finally here," she said to me through telepathy. "My second fragment…"
We were in front of a huge Neutonium Mother Core, right in front of us, overflowing with energy even when it was covered by several layers of ice.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
"Alright, I'll take it from here."
"Uh? Okay…"
Zack and everyone else glanced from afar, as I stepped forward, reaching the Neutonium Mother Core and touching it gently.
FLAAASH!
Suddenly, through the power of my own Soul Fragment within my Core, I was able to activate the dormant one in this place, whose lightning was strong enough to quickly melt and turn into vapor all the ice.
A wave of electricity engulfed my entire body, as I felt like my entire being was being electrocuted and burned. I felt a presence quickly beginning to rapidly enter my body, fusing with the one that already existed there.
FLUOSH!
"Ugh…!"
I quickly took away my hands from the core, as the process was… mostly done. Yes, I could sense now that she had become even stronger, not twice, but a quantitative increase, perhaps ten times.
"It's done," she said with a pleased voice. "Ah, I feel so much better now, finally more complete. I need the third fragment too, but this is enough for now. Thank you for going so far for me, Blake."
"I'll need your help to defeat the damn aliens anyways," I said. "So I'm doing this mostly for my own benefit."
"Even then, I'm grateful," she said. "I'll make sure to help you tomorrow. The Xenoids might become even stronger… For now, I would recommend you go sleep, it will get late soon."
"I know, and you're not my mother to order me around like this," I smiled lightly.
Crack, crack…!
CRASH!
The Neutonium Mother Core crumbled into pieces, as I decided to quickly grab all the fragments and store them inside my Inventory.
The same was done for all the golems we found, which we stored and dismantled into smaller pieces.
With these materials, even if from a game, we could upgrade these machines, so they'll be even stronger once they're materialized.
"Anyways, have you gained a new ability?" I asked her.
"I have gained some new abilities, yes," she said. "But I am processing them so I can't tell you what they are for now."
"Fine…" I yawned.
I walked back with my friends and quickly nodded.
"Alright, we're done for now, let's return to the island and then back to the city," I said.
"Wait, really? That quick?" wondered Zack. "We could stay here and explore a bit…"
"Well, if you want to, you can stay and explore," I said. "But I'm leaving, I want to log out."
"Ah, fine… Oh?"
"Take these, your compensation for helping me."
I ended giving him a third of the Neutonium Core Fragments and the Black Steel Golems so he could gain a lot of money from that.
"Woah! I can sell this for a lot!" he said.
"Hmm…" I ended giving him a bit more, almost half of everything. "There, this should give you enough money for now, right?"
"I-I think so! Thanks a lot Blake!" Zack was very happy.
"Don't mind it," I shrugged. "Let's go back home now."
We swiftly returned to the island despite some of my allies complaining about it, especially Braveblitz who wanted to hunt own "evildoing mutants" or whatever.
"Let's go back to the island to check on the robots and then we go back home Braveblitz, you've had enough fun for the day. Think about tomorrow, I'll need you at full power there."
"R-Right! Yes, of course Blake! Count on me!"
As he was easy to be convinced, we moved to the island and landed near the jungle. We walked to the village to check on Repairer and ended… being shocked.
"Repairer?" I wondered, opening the door to his house. "Huh?!"
To our surprise, the two androids we captured and used as vessels for Hendrick and Saphira to infiltrate their infected domain, were suddenly walking around just fine, talking, and even smiling while repairing other androids and robots.
"B-9… A-0!" said Saphira. "Oh my gosh! Are you okay now?!"
"I can't believe this! When did this happen?!" asked Hendrick.
"Oh…" B-9 muttered. "It's you guys…!"
"Hm? These must be… right, the digital spirits that possessed us temporarily… and cleansed the virus, right?" A-0 smiled. "I'm so happy to meet you."
"Me too!" Saphira ended hugging them two with her giant mechanical hands, she was piloting one of my robots after all.
"They were repaired," said the Repairer. "I added. Our hearts. They were back to normal. Once fully recharged with sunlight. Surprising, isn't it? Even I. Am shocked. But I'm thankful. They're good natured. And also talk. A lot."
"But I was sure your memories were erased…" I said.
"There was a backup," smiled B-9.
"There's always a backup for emergencies," nodded A-0.
To think they're fine…

I wonder though, how can they be useful to me?
Hm… I might have an idea.
