Chapter 143: New Place
At exactly midnight, the Magic Control test was over... and only four people made it through in Linfel's group. There wasn't anything strange about this number. Usually, no more than an average of six or seven passes it during every exam, so Linfel's numbers was just a little smaller.
Milia... was not among those who passed the test, though. She ended the first two tests faster than the rest of the groups. Unfortunately, the third test went beyond what Linfel taught her. She barely began her training of swapping magic channels to gain better Magic Control. It would be weird if she suddenly was better than even the Level Five Maguses present.
The third test required Magic Control not only about one's Magic Energy Channel but about the Magic Energy outside their bodies and the Magic Energy inside their Cores. While she excelled at the completely focused Magic Energy Channel tests, the last one was out of her range.
She wasn't disappointed, though. The Magic Array still followed a fair scoring method, and it showed a score of 657 out of the 800 necessary to pass. Most of those who were taking this test for the first time didn't even reach 500 points.
One of the four successful participants was obviously Alvin. Once again, the Magic Array was fair, and Linfel couldn't interfere with the calculation of results it made. Alvin ended up having a score of 1325, far above the other three who passed. The reason for such a monumental score was Linfel's obstacles.
The interference were caused by the array, so the array considered Alvin's performances to be worth even more points than it did to the other Maguses.
The other three were two females and one male. The Two females were Leel Four Maguses, while the other Male was a Level Five. All three of them had been here in the Ventis Sect for over a year, so they worked a lot on their Magic Control.
Normally, the rest of the Maguses would feel dejected that they didn't make it through the test. Yet, today was different. What Linfel showed to them all, and especially the difference his training made right from the start, gave all of them hope. Those methods were just too effective!
"Supervisor Linfel," one of the Maguses quickly came to Linfel's side. "I'm Olix Dunnes. Would you perhaps have time for a paid tutelage? I've saved quite a bit of Ventis Credits since I arrived and would like to receive more of your teachings. I'm sure to pass the test next time if you take me."
"Get out of the way!" Another magus intervened. "Senior Linfel... No! Master Linfel! I also have Ventis Credits, and I'm already at Level Five. Please accept me instead.
Just one month! That's all I need from you."
"Ha! Bunch of idiots. Supervisor Linfel wouldn't lose his time with the likes of you. I, on the other hand, have plenty of Ventis Credits I've been saving. Senior Linfel, I can pay more than any of these Maguses. Take me."
Alvin and Milia looked at each other. Linfel had easily become the center of attention after he helped all the maguses in the exam. No other supervisors did that for them before. Alvin then whispered in Milia's ears. 'Let's leave quickly. These guys are all over Linfel and willing to pay for his help.
If they find out we aren't paying anything, we will become the focus of their anger.'
Milia was taken aback and nodded vigorously. They down down and walked fast between the Maguses. The results mattered little at the moment.
However, Linfel suddenly flashed in front of the two. "Hey, where are you going? Don't leave me behind. The test results are out, so my job for today is over. Let's go home together."
All the eyes immediately turned to Alvin and Milia. "Do you guys live in the same place?"
Linfel nodded. "Yes. They are my friends. We came from the same planet, so I'm also helping them train. Anyway, everyone. I can't help with your training since I already have these two under my wings.
Goodbye." Right after, Linfel grabbed them and walked out, ignoring all the requests from the Maguses behind. Discover more adventures with m_vl_em_p_yr
Milia and Alvin walked out with their heads down, feeling all the jealousy targeted at them. Couldn't this wisp have at least waited for them to come out?
Outside the room, Nori quickly runs in Milia's direction. His test ended a lot earlier. "Milia!"
"Nori!" Milia grabbed the guy with a smile. "How was it? Did you do well?"
Nori shook his head. "Nowhere near it. I scored 612 points only. What about you?"
"657 points. I didn't pass either," she explained as they made their way out of the building.
"Don't worry," Linfel was satisfied, though. "Your scores are within what I expected. Above all, you know how the tests work. Well, one of the tests was given by me, but that's okay."
"Given... by you?" Nori was puzzled, so Milia had to explain everything to Nori. "What?! You became a supervisor?! How?!"
Milia and Alvin quickly turned to Linfel. They were just as curious.
However, before Linfel could talk, the manager of the testing building appeared. "Linfel, good work today."
"Oh! Senior Truqil. I hope my new method proved efficient," Linfel was happy to see the man. It was Truqil who gave the final word that accepted him as a supervisor for this exam.
Truqil nodded, satisfied. "It was great. Not many passed, but you set the ground for those Maguses to improve. Not all supervisors spend much time doing such things. By the way, can you come with me for a moment? I want to talk about the next exam in two months."
Linfel looked at Alvin, who just nodded back. "We can find our way back home. Just meet us there later."
"Very well," Linfel quickly nodded and joined Truqil. "Let's go, senior Truqil."
It wasn't before two hours later that Linfel arrived back in their shared room. "Hey there, I'm back!"
Alvin, Milia, and Nori quickly gathered around him, not leaving much space in the already small room. "So, how did you do that?"
Linfel didn't talk about it, though. "I will explain later. For now, gather your things. We are leaving."
"Leaving?" Alvin's group obviously got confused. "Why?"
Linfel then took out his MCOM and showed the map. "We are moving to the city center. I just got us a house... paid by the Ventis Sect. Hahaha!"
