CH.566 Living Spear
CH.566 Living Spear
Making a spear body for the first mabuki wasn’t a problem. Even with my smithing skills, I can make a decent spear. Especially since I had Karl and Rahman help me.
We didn’t enchant the finished spear, as I wasn’t sure if we could do it without the enchants interfering with the mabuki. In Factory tests, we could do it. But in Factory tests, I was able to use cornstarch water as the main body of the mabuki, so I don’t 100% trust my Factory results at the moment.
So for now, the spear will be unenchanted, so I can get the mabuki to start learning spear skills.
Speaking of the mabuki, it got a few installs. The first one was Psychokinesis for the Telekinesis skill. At least something equivalent to it.
Next is Survival Instinct. I think it is just a good thing for the mabuki to have.
The third one is Xyz Unit. It should help in Wilma’s project, so I added it in. It might be unnecessary, but it might also be required. And since I had space, I added it. But I might remove it later if I want some other skill instead.
Last one, for this mabuki specifically, is Shield Spear. Just for some generic Spear Techniques. I still don’t think the mabuki will be a ready living weapon when it takes over a spear, but it will help.
As for the spear this mabuki will be living in, as I said, I made it with Karl and Rahman. Naturally out of star titanium and orichalcum.
It was a well-made spear, but it wasn’t legendary because it didn’t get enchanted. It might be a low-class legendary weapon if we did, but as it is, I’m happy with it.
I then had the mabuki merge with the spear, and we had our first living weapon.
… and because we did, I had to name it. I pondered on the name for a long time, but then I decided that maybe we could name our living weapons after star signs. Yes I know it is overdone, but it is overdone for a reason. They just are great names.
And besides, Yugioh never used the ‘regular’ zodiac for cards. I think. They did use the Chinese Zodiac with Zoodiacs, but I don’t think there ever was an archetype based on the zodiac star signs.
So the first living weapon got the name: The Star Spear, Aries.
Why Aries and not anything else?
Well, I didn’t know which star sign to pick for a spear, so I just went with Aries.
I couldn’t really go with something like Cancer, Gemini or Pisces, as they don’t really fit a spear. Sagittarius is more of an archer/bow related one, so I’m saving that for it. Tauros fits a battle axe way better. Leo feels more like the name of a sword.
Virgo was an option, but that can be used for other weapons just as well.
Libra doesn’t fit a spear. A spear isn’t balanced in that way. Scorpio could fit, but again, he can fit other weapons. Capricorn is the same.
And Aquarius would fit a trident better than a spear, but I suppose I could have used it.
After testing out Aries myself, I turned it over to my spear wielding monsters for training. I’ll check up on the spear later, but I’m sure it will be one of the best weapons ever. I just hope my monsters don’t abuse the spear. I don’t want a vengeful mabuki.
And since the entire mabuki making project is now basically finished, I mean, I know how to make them and I know the base installs they need. I just need to wait for more data before I can really develop them further.
So because of that, it is pack opening time. I’ve not opened any while I focused on the mabuki project, so now I want to open some.
And I think I’ll do 10 packs of each and .
So let’s get to it with Generation Force.
Well, an ultra rare is a nice start, but I already had a Wind-Up Zenmaister. Sure mine was the ultimate rare variant, but it is technically the same card.
Next pack.
Nothing new here, next.
Wonder Wand is decent enough. The 500 attack boost isn’t that much, but it can sometimes help. But the draw 2 is really nice, even if you have to send both Wonder Wand and the monster it is equipped to to the GY.
Next pack.
Nothing new here, next.
Nothing new, next.
Nothing new, next.
Xyz Veil is decent. Targeting protection is a pretty good effect, and it does work for all Xyz monsters.
Next pack.
Nothing new, next.
Nothing new here, next.
One more ultra rare before the set change. Raigeki Bottle might not be the greatest, but Counter holding cards can be broken, even if they don’t at first seem like it.
After all, Thunder Counters might be useful for something. Maybe learning Lightning Magic? Or just for generating electricity? But I don’t need to make electricity when I can use mana to power devices, so I probably won’t do that.
Anyway. 3 ultra rares and 1 super rare from 10 packs it great. Let’s hope that luck continuous to the next set.
And again, the first pack has an ultra rare. But let’s go over the other new stuff first.
Zenmairch isn’t that good. You can just swap a Wind-Up monster for another one in your hand. If it special summoned from the deck, it would actually be good, but as it stands, it isn’t that great.
Evolsaur Vulcano is great. Summoning from the GY with an on-summon monster effect is always nice.
And Number 10: Illumiknight is okay-ish. Kind of on the bad side for a rank 4. Its stats aren’t that great and an effect to draw 1 at the cost of sending a card from hand to the GY isn’t the best. They should instead have the effect be something like ‘detach material, send 1 card from hand to GY; and if you do, draw 1 card then send the top card of your deck to the GY’. That would have been better, but even then, I don’t think Illumiknight would have been popular, as it still needs 3 level 4 monsters as material.
Next pack.
Fish Rain is okay at best. A trap to special summon 1 monster from the hand isn’t that good. Really should have been from the deck.
One Day of Peace is amazing. Sure the draw 1 is just okay, but no battle damage for a while can be really helpful in calming down situations.
And Wind-Up Knight has decent stats, and the effect to stop a single attack while it is face-up isn’t bad either.
Next pack.
Photon Booster sucks. All Photon monsters, well all the good ones anyway, already have 2000 attack. So why would you ever use Photon Booster?
Next pack.
Nothing new here, next.
Icy Crevasse isn’t the worst trap ever, it does both destroy a monster and inflict burn damage. But it is too situational.
Junk Defender is an okay wall. That’s all.
And Evolzar Laggia is fantastic. Just detach 2 overlay units to negate stuff like a summon or a spell.
Nothing new here, next.
Wattcancel is fine enough. Just negate a summon by discarding a Watt.
Next pack.
Shark Stickers is just a free summon for a rank 3 play. So nothing special, and I probably won’t use it, but not bad for the TCG.
Next pack.
Baby Tiragon is … not a great monster. Actually, I suppose it could work with the Meklord Emperors. They are level 1. And giving them the ability to direct attack could inflict massive damage.
Next, and last, pack.
And nothing new here. But getting Pinecono reminds me that I still don’t have Acorno. And Acorno is common. Well, maybe next time.
Also, only 2 higher rarity cards from Photon Shockwave. Did Generation Force steal all of my luck? Well, whatever.
And with the new Xyz monsters I got, I have enough for the next reward, so let’s quickly summon them and claim the reward.
So I just summoned the eight Xyz monsters I’ve yet to summon.
Wind-Up Zenmaister; Leviair the Sea Dragon; Submersible Carrier Aero Shark; Black Ray Lancer; Number 20: Giga-Brilliant; Number 10: Illumiknight; Evolzar Laggia and Baby Tiragon.
With that, I’m up to 44 summoned Xyz monsters, so I claimed the reward for 40, which was Blaze, Supreme Ruler of all Dragons and Xyz Force. I then summoned Blaze so I’d get up to 45 and claimed that reward.
For 45, I got Number 62: Galaxy-Eyes Prime Photon Dragon and Numbers Last Hope.
And summoning Prime Photon Dragon got me up to 46 total Xyz monsters summoned.
And at 50 I will be getting…
Summon unique Xyz Monsters |

Next Reward is given at 50 unique Xyz Monsters |
Next Reward: Numeron Creation + Neo Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon + Neo Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon + Number C62: Neo Galaxy-Eyes Prime Photon DragonOriginally Number C107: Neo Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon, but it was replaced as you already have Number C107: Neo Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon in your Collection |
So, I’m getting the Neo Galaxy-Eyes monsters. That’s fantastic. I love them all, especially C62, as I didn’t even know they made it. Neo Cipher is also fantastic. Neo Photon … is a bit too specific. It is good against Xyz decks, but other than that, it isn’t that good. I guess an on summon negate of all face-up cards is good, but still.
What do you think?
