After a few minutes, everyone arrived at the throne room then the guards allowed them to enter and Nessa saw that the council members were already there as well as a few other people and the king was sitting on his throne.

Nessa bowed her head to the king as she approached him, then he smiled at her and she was about to stand aside but Mikala grabbed onto her arm and she looked at the girl.

Mikala pulled her to stand with her by her brother's side as well as the other family members and the king smiled then Mikala patted Nessa on her shoulder.

"What are you doing? I am not supposed to stand here," Nessa said and Mikala glanced at Zack then the demon and Zack scoffed.

"Hey, come and stand with me, what are you going to do standing so far away?" Zack asked and the king glanced at them as did a few working for those within the council.

"Are you sure about this? We are being looked at you know," The demon responded and Zack chuckled.

"You are just talking that, you don't really care what anyone thinks here, do you?" Zack asked as the demon stood beside him and his eyes narrowed.

"Nessa, I don't care, you are my friend after all, people can say what they want, these kinds of things do not matter to me, not at all, I want you to stand here and that's all that matters," Mikala said and Nessa glanced at her and her brows furrowed.

"Fine, then let me ask you something even though you may not want to hear it," She replied.

Mikala looked at her, curious as to what Nessa wanted to ask her and a smile appeared on her face.

"All right, go on, ask me what you want to," Mikala said and Nessa sighed.

"Do you want this?" She asked and Mikala's brows furrowed as she looked at her then lowered her head a little.

"Yeah, of course I do, we need someone to sit there now, my father is tired of it and who knows what can happen today or tomorrow or the next hour, he deserves to relax now, we need someone who can keep up the pace, someone who can do a possibly better job than him," She responded.

"I know but that is not what I am asking you right now, Mikala," She said and the girl glanced at her and sighed.

"Nessa, did you notice something about me now?" She asked and Nessa scoffed as her eyes narrowed.

"I am not stupid, sometimes, I pay so much attention that I end up seeing things others aren't able to," She responded and Mikala smiled at her.

"Yeah, I can tell that, I have been watching the way you handle things," She said as the king stood up, since they were waiting for a few other people, who had now arrived.

"Now, shall we get this over with?" The king asked and everyone looked at him.

"Yeah," They responded and he smiled at them before glancing at the throne and Mikala looked at her father.

"Sure we shouldn't delay this a bit?" Nios asked and Mikala as well as the brother looked at him.

"What are you saying? Of course, we can't, there are others here as well and he already said that he will make his choice, there will be no changing his mind right now," Mikala responded.

"She is right, we have to get it over with this time, there is no going back from this, let's see if it stays within our family or goes to an outsider," Their elder brother said and both of them nodded.

Nessa smiled at them, seeing how well they were handling things and she looked at the king, knowing that it was hard for him to do what he had to and she sighed.

"Well, as you guys know, I have made my decision when it comes to who will sit here next, since I will be retiring soon, that's because I spent most of my life, looking after this kingdom, it is time for a change, a new person to take over," He said and they smiled at him.

"Your Highness, that's true, you have been doing this for a very long time now and you have done well so far, you have brought this kingdom to a new phase," Quion replied and the king glanced at him then smiled.

"Thank you, Quion, I am glad to hear that coming from you, now I know when you guys hear the decision that I have come to, you guys might be a little surprised and confused, but believe me, I have thought about it many times and it's for the best, it's the right decision in my eyes," The king said.

Everyone looked at each other, including the candidates, wondering how come the king had such a hard time.

Reign sighed as he glanced at his father, since the decision was not an easy one, especially when there were many good people standing in front of you.

"Father, don't worry, we will go along with whatever decision you make, please tell us, who it is that you chose to sit on that throne next?" Reign asked.

"I will tell you guys, now but you have to promise me that you guys will at least think carefully about it," He responded.

Everyone bowed their heads to the king then agreed with him and he smiled at them.

"The person I chose as the next one to sit here, is my daughter, Mikala," He said and everyone gasped.

Mikala's eyes widened as her brothers turned to look at her and she stepped back and Zack placed his hand on her back and she glanced at him as her eyes trembled a little.

Nessa turned back to look at Mikala, as she stood in a corner looking at the others, feeling a little bit surrounded, with all of the eyes on her and Nessa's brows furrowed and the demon glanced at her and the king turned to his daughter.
